The next day, when Travis was at practice, Taylor sat down with her mom on the couch and they just talked. She finally told her what had been going on inside her head over the past few days and Andrea just held her hand. "Thank you for getting me here", Taylor said after a while. "You think that was right? I wasn't sure cause you stopped talking completely when we arrived", her mom mentioned. "Well... yeah, I... I don't know. But... I felt so... stupid for ignoring Trav the whole time and the longer I... didn't answer his texts, the more guilty I felt. But he just... He was as if he just knew. He came home and hugged me and told me that he loved me and... I guess I needed that", Taylor told her. "He called in sick because of me", she added. "Okay, so he told you that now", Andrea noted relieved. Taylor would've found out someday and it was way better this way. "Yes, we talked about that and just... everything and I apologized for ignoring him and all that", Taylor explained.

Taylor's phone suddenly interrupted them with a sound that meant that Tree was calling. Taylor instantly got a little nervous. Tree never just called out of nowhere if it wasn't necessary to talk immediately. "Tree?", she accepted the call. "Taylor, hi! It's good news, don't worry but first... how are you?", her publicist asked. "I'm okay. It's been a few rough days though", Taylor told her honestly. "Okay, I have the perfect mood shifter", Tree teased audibly smiling. "What's it?", Taylor wanted to know. "Are you alone?", Tree questioned. "No, mom's here. What's going on?", Taylor got impatient. "Okay, get out the champagne or something. You're TIME magazine's Person of the Year. The first-ever person who got that solely through entertainment industry accomplishments", Tree finally announced. "What?! I didn't even know I was a possibility for them! How?! Who?! What the fuck?!", Taylor laughed surprised making Andrea look up confused. "However, they want an interview and a photoshoot as soon as possible. It's supposed to come out in four days I think", Tree continued. "Four?! Okay... when? Like the interview and stuff. And where?", Taylor asked. "New York and... tomorrow if that's possible", she said. "To... okay... yeah, we can get there...", Taylor stuttered still in disbelief. "I'll prepare everything and send you all the info. But you're allowed to celebrate before, okay? Don't tell too many people though", Tree said. "Sure, yeah... thank you! I don't believe it", Taylor laughed. Tree chuckled too. She was very happy for her as well.

"What's the news?", Andrea wanted to know curiously when Taylor ended the call. "I... I am TIME magazine's Person of the Year", Taylor said incredulously. "Really?! Oh, congratulations honey! That's such an honor", she stood up to hug her daughter. "I... I can't believe it. I have to get back to New York for an interview and a photoshoot tomorrow", she explained. "Oh, so we won't stay longer. Well... can you tell Travis why?", Andrea asked. "I think I will. I can't come up with an apology to leave that would hold up to this", she thought out loud. "He'll be happy for you", Andrea smiled. Taylor did too cause she knew her mom was right. But she had to pack her bag again now. Tomorrow morning, she would have to get up early and leave for the airport. This schedule was confirmed by Tree a few minutes later.

"Okay, would someone now tell me what this is for?", Travis came home later holding up a bottle of champagne that Andrea told him to buy. Taylor laughed and greeted him with a hug. "You're the boyfriend of TIME magazine's Person of the Year", she smiled up at him. He looked at her for a moment. "What?! You are... wow! Wow, that's so cool! Oh, I'm so happy for you!", he immediately grinned and hugged her again. "I'm so proud", he whispered so only she would hear it. It made her heart melt. "That's a valid reason for champagne", he then said after letting go of her. Taylor chuckled and they made their way to the kitchen to get glasses out.

"You're not allowed to tell anyone yet by the way", Taylor explained. "Oh? Am I your inner circle now?", he joked. "You're the closest", she winked holding his hand under the table. Andrea smiled about them. After a few minutes of celebration, Taylor sighed leaning her head against his shoulder. "I have to get back to New York tomorrow morning. They need an interview and some photos", she explained. Travis squeezed her hand. "Go and let them know why you deserve that title", he just said still beaming with pride. "I'll be back as soon as I can", she told him. "I love you", he mumbled against her head before pressing his lips against it for a second. Taylor smiled and when she realized that he had said that in front of her mom, her smile grew even wider. She met Andrea's eyes and they exchanged a knowing look. "I love you too", she finally gave back.

As planned, Taylor and Andrea made their way back to New York in the early hours of the next day. Andrea then left to go home soon and Taylor prepared a whole lot with Tree. The interview would happen the next day at her place and the photoshoot a day later at a different place. "I honestly have a stupid idea for the shoot", Taylor mentioned. "Okay", Tree said. "I could maybe bring Benji and... you know have him on some of the pictures", Taylor said. "Ahm... I can ask them", Tree laughed. "I haven't seen him yet, to be honest. The girls said hello but Benji might be sleeping somewhere", Taylor mentioned. "Then you should probably go look for him", Tree continued to laugh. "I will. Can you ask them? I wanna bring the cat", she said. "Okay. Oh, but they also asked you to bring a guitar. So, if you wanna go for the all-black, maybe prepare your black guitar", Tree said. "Oh, yeah. I guess I have to clean it a bit. But sure, why not?", Taylor agreed.

The next day, the interviewer came around. Taylor was a little nervous simply because she was talking to a reporter. But it turned out to be a very chill conversation and Taylor really felt like the other one was listening and trying to really understand. At some point, Taylor even talked about Travis. It felt new to talk about her relationship fairly openly but Travis was doing that too in the podcast and she wanted to share a little bit as well. They both seemed to have found a good middle ground between what to share and what to keep. In the evening, Taylor felt like she had had a great conversation and the article could turn out well if they wouldn't twist her words. But because it was the TIME magazine, she was pretty sure it would be cool. It had been a tirering day though.

When the photoshoot was scheduled, Taylor showed up with Benjamin and her guitar as planned. The guitar was the cleanest it had ever been, shimmering in the bright light of the studio and Taylor had also brushed Benji for a while. He loved it anyway and now he looked perfect. As always, it took Taylor a few minutes to feel comfortable on set in front of the camera and all the people but then they just had fun. Playing around with the lights, a wind machine, the guitar, and the cat, the pictures turned out great. Coming home from the shoot, she decided to just order food, call Travis and then go to bed soon.

He apparently couldn't talk because he was still recording the podcast with his brother. They were late with the recording and he was sorry for not being able to talk to Taylor today but she was okay. The next day, she would go back to Kansas anyway because every meeting in the upcoming week had been scheduled as online so that she wouldn't have to be anywhere. On her way to Kansas again, Taylor was looking forward to just stay there for another couple of days. The sudden change of plans had been stressful now that she had time to let it all sink in. Person of the Year. She still couldn't believe it.

And we didn't get the matching green set and also not the other one that's left. She's trolling us and I'm here for it.
