Before Travis came home, Taylor decided to finally ask her security if they could talk later. She wanted to give Travis all the information about what her life was like in that sense. Obviously, he already knew a lot simply by being with her but he had asked to get filled in fully and she could understand him. So, in the evening, they sat together with Brandon from her security team for dinner and talked. Travis could feel her unease about the whole thing. He was nervous too, simply because he didn't know what to expect. But they held hands under the table while Brandon explained the rough outline of everything first.

Taylor hated to think about all the things that could go wrong if she would just leave the house for a minute but it was necessary. Brandon was really good at explaining when they needed to do what and why. He explained when it was enough for them to be next door, when they would have to be at the door, and when they had to be right by her side. He told Travis how they correctly shielded her from paparazzi or mobs on their way to the car or on similar occasions. Travis asked some questions, so he wouldn't do anything wrong in an emergency and he even went into what he would need to do in case he was the only security around her for whatever reason. Taylor listened silently. She liked that he wanted to protect her like that but she hated that it was necessary.

But they also talked about his security around her or when he wasn't with her. Of course, he knew that she had to deal with some crazy dudes living in their imagination of love with her. But when Brandon told him how many people, mostly men, they knew about, he was still shocked. "I'm sorry, can you do the rest alone?", she asked not wanting to hear about any of that. "Sure. We could also take a break", Brandon suggested. "No, it's fine. Just... get it over with. I'll be upstairs", she said standing up. Travis watched her leave sighing. He knew this was a lot for her too but he hadn't even processed most of it yet. So, he couldn't help her now anyway. "You wanna continue?", Brandon asked. "Yeah. Let's get it done", he agreed.

So they went into the topic of break-ins and stalkers. Travis knew that Taylor had a bulletproof vest under her bed. She had told him that. And now he knew why. There had been people showing up armed trying to get to her. He got goosebumps from imagining it. Imagining what they would do to her and imagining her fear. "We actually should get you one too. Just in case. Let us know your size and we'll take care", Brandon mentioned. Travis just nodded. A few more things had to be said but then Brandon was done with his rundown. "I know this all is a lot. It sounds like you're in danger the whole time but that's why we are here. Nothing serious ever happened to Taylor. Take your time to process. You can ask any of us anything", he told him before leaving. "Thank you", Travis just answered. "She's scared that I'll go now, isn't she?", he couldn't hold back. It wasn't his place to talk to Brandon about that but he had to hear it. "Probably", the security guard answered vaguely.

When Travis was left alone, he sat there for another while just going through all the information he had just received. There were men in this world who had crazy fantasies about his girlfriend and right now, he wasn't sure what he would do if he would ever be confronted with one of them. He wanted to protect her. He would get into every fight he had to but if someone pointed a gun at him, what would he do? Beg for his life and leave her alone in danger? Try to disarm the other one? Catch a bullet for her? He had no idea.

Taylor slowly walked down the stairs again. She had heard the front door a while ago and she thought Travis would come to her then but he didn't. Did he leave? When she saw him still sitting in the kitchen, she felt a slight relief. But maybe he just wanted to tell her that he couldn't do this. "Trav", she said from the doorway. He turned around just looking at her. She felt herself getting more and more anxious. Maybe she just wasn't meant to have someone forever. Maybe she would always stay the hopelessly romantic lonely cat woman. "Please don't go", she heard herself mumble. She had written a song about this not long ago. Her prophecy seemed to be written that way. But Travis stood up, walked over to her, and pulled her into a hug. "Please", she repeated. Her begging broke his heart. She didn't deserve this.

"I'm not going anywhere", he told her gently pressing her head against his chest. "Tay, I love you. I won't go", he repeated again. Her body slowly relaxed in his hug. "I love you", she whispered. "I love you too", he said one more time before kissing her head. "All of this is insane. I will need some time to really understand it but I'm in love with you. I won't let this go because of it", he told her. She looked up at him looking for signs in his eyes that he was lying but he wasn't. He meant it. "Thank you", she said. He smiled softly at her before making their lips meet.

A little bit later, they cuddled up in bed. It was silent because they were still thinking about a lot. "Can I ask you something?", he started. "Everything", she instantly answered. "Brandon said there have been people showing up at your door armed", he began. Taylor looked past him trying to swallow the feeling this topic brought up every time. "He said you're supposed to put on this vest and hide in the closet", Travis continued. She nodded a little. "I assume you've been scarred as hell, so, are you even... like... can you do that? I feel like I wouldn't be able to think rationally enough in that situation and your position", he finally said what he wanted to know. "I... I have done that before, yes. I lock the bathroom door too, so I have a fifty-fifty chance they'd go to the wrong door, I put on the vest, and I hide behind my clothes. I doubt it would make a big difference though if anyone would ever make it in", she admitted.

Travis couldn't help it, he had to hug her again and hold her close. "I...  I was so fucking scared", she whispered honestly. "Oh, I can imagine", he answered silently. "I literally don't remember anything until my security came to get me. My arms bled a little because I... because I had been digging my nails into them so hard and... I could only think of my mom and dad and Austin and everyone I might've forgotten to say goodbye to", she explained slowly. Taylor had never told that to anyone. Noone had ever asked. The way he pressed her against his body was everything at that moment. "I'm so sorry this happened to you", he told her. "And thank you for telling me that, okay? I can only imagine what it is like. I mean... I understand why you left when we were talking with Brandon earlier. I wouldn't want to be reminded of a situation like that either", he thought out loud.

"Do you think you'll dream about it?", Travis asked after a few minutes. She shrugged. "You?", she wanted to know. This was something he was in now too, so he could have nightmares just as well. "I don't really have nightmares a lot. But I might wake up to think", he told her. "You can wake me up, okay?", she wanted to make sure. Travis smiled at her before kissing her forehead. "I love you", he told her one last time for today. Taylor smiled up at him as well. "I love you too", she said before they decided to put the lights out and go to sleep.
