My dear friend, so far away
In a land torn by chaos and fray
Where bombs explode and bullets fly
And fear consumes both day and night
I write this poem with a heavy heart
But know that I am here for you
I pray for your safety every day
And hope for peace to come your way
I cannot imagine the pain you bear
As you see your country in despair
I long to see you smile again
To see the war finally come to an end
Be safe, my dear friend, in every way
May angels watch over you night and day
And know that you are not alone
For in my heart, you have a home
