"Well, well, well, look who it is," Dustin said suddenly, holding onto his walkie-talkie. Steve looked at Judy confused but she only grabbed the can of gasoline out of the trunk of his car and he continued to portion out the meat into two buckets. They had stopped just beside the railroad tracks that lined Hawkins.
"Well, when you were having sister problems," Dustin continued, "Dart grew again, he escaped, and I'm pretty sure he's a baby Demogorgon. I'll explain later. Meet me and Steve and Judy at the old junkyard. And bring your binoculars and wrist rocket. Just be there, stat. Over and out."
"Alright. So we just toss a chunk every couple of inches?" Steve said, with a bucket of meat already in his hands.
"Uhh, you two can. I'm not touching that stuff," Judy said, picking up the can of gasoline to carry.
"That's what the gloves are for."
"I am not touching it," Judy stood her ground against Steve and Dustin huffed as he picked up the other set of gloves and bucket of meat. Judy walked in front of the boys as they threw meat down the tracks. The two of them talked to each other like Judy wasn't even there.
"Alright, so let me get this straight. You kept something you knew was probably dangerous in order to impress a girl who... who you just met?" Steve asked Dustin.
"That's grossly oversimplifying things."
"I mean, why would a girl like some nasty slug anyway?"
"An interdimensional slug? Because it's awesome," Dustin giggled.
"Well, even if she thought it was cool, which she didn't, I just... I just feel like you're trying way too hard."
"Well, not everyone can have your perfect hair, all right?"
"It's not about the hair, man." Judy listened in amusement as Steve gave his pep talk, which she knew he'd given to many other boys before. "The key with girls is just... just acting like you don't care. It drives them nuts."
"Then what?" Dustin inquired.
"You just wait until you feel it. It's like before it's gonna storm, you know? You can't see it, but you can feel it, like this, uh... electricity, you know?"
"Oh, like in the electromagnetic field when the clouds in the atmosphere–"
"No, no, no. Like a sexual electricity. You feel that and then you make your move."
"Woah," Judy stopped herself on the tracks and turned around to face Steve and Dustin. "You are the last person he needs love advice from," she said looking at Steve.
"What are you talking about? I know everything there is to know,
he said acting cocky."Oh, really? When were you gonna teach him about going to his girlfriend's house, who he thinks might have broken up with him, but isn't really sure, and try to apologize for something he didn't even do?" She questioned him and Dustin looked towards Steve expecting an answer. But Steve didn't have one, he just looked at Judy with his mouth hanging open. "Exactly."
