Somehow Dustin was at the mall before Judy and Steve even were. He'd been up on the rooftop for a while and had lots of details to share with the group, which he named Scoop Troop for some reason.
"The keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with said keycard also has a massive gun," he said, pacing around the back room of Scoops Ahoy. "Whatever's in that room, whatever's in those boxes, they really don't want anybody finding it."
"There's gotta be a way in, though," Judy added. "There just has to be."
"Well, you know... I could just take him out." Steve said, looking way too confident.
"Take who out?"
"The Russian guard. I knock him out, and I take his keycard. It's easy."
"Do I need to remind you of the last time you thought you could do that? I seriously thought Billy killed you."
He looked offended at Judy and scowled, "Well, he didn't."
"Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?"
"Yes, Dustin, I did. And that's why I would be sneaking." Steve moved his fingers across the table in a walking motion, "Like a ninja."
"Ah, well please, remind us when you've ever actually won a fight."
This time, Steve scowled at Dustin, "Okay, it was one time..."
"Twice," Dustin reminded him. "Jonathan. Year prior?"
"Oh, shit," Judy thought out loud. "I forgot about that."
She thought some more, tapping her fingers across her forehead hoping for ideas to suddenly vibrate into the air.
Bingo!
She slapped her hands on the table and stood up. Dustin and Steve stared at her with wide eyes. "I have a plan, but I need you two to stay here."
"Where are you going?" Steve asked, following her out as she walked into the main parlor. Dustin was close behind him.
"To find a way into that room." Judy walked further away before turning around to see that the two boys stopped behind the front counter. "But for the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don't get beat up. I'll be back in a jiff!"
Judy ran to the other side of the mall and into the hallways of offices. Finding the 'surveillance' room, Judy knocked three times.
David, the barely legal mall cop, opened the door. He looked shocked to see Judy standing in front of him.
"Hello, David," she said sweetly, playing coy.
"Judy!" David exclaimed in a semi-high pitch. He quickly cleared his throat and threw on his best seductive face, "What brings you here?"
She tried her absolute hardest to not visibly cringe at him, it'd compromise the mission. She simply raised her eyebrows slowly and smiled a little wider, "I have a favor to ask."
