"I intercepted a secret Russian communication!" Dustin shouted. When everyone inside of Scoops turned to look at them funny, including Judy as she scooped ice cream for a customer, Steve shushed him.

Without thinking much about what Dustin had just said, Judy shook her head as she continued helping customers. She was growing more anxious as more and more customers continuously wanted to try different flavors. All she wanted to do was talk to Dustin about his summer.

She was hopeful when she saw Steve and Dustin stand up from their booth and walk over to the counter, but quickly realized it wasn't for her convenience when they walked straight to the swinging door.

"Hey," she called out, disappointed. "Where are you two going?"

"Uh, we'll fill you in later." Dustin said, plainly.

"Why do I have to stay out here, while you guys get to do secret stuff?"

"Because you're a corporate junkie," Steve teased. "You play by the rules."

"Because I'd like to keep my job?"

"Just stay out here, alright? I'll switch in a little bit."

As if their timing wasn't bad enough, Erica Sinclair and her little group of friends walked in. She could see their rotten smiles a mile away. It was often that Mrs. Sinclair would drop off Erica to meet with her friends at the mall. They always found their way to Scoops to harass Judy and Steve.

Every visit, the four little girls would use up almost all the sampling spoons, trying every flavor over and over again, taking advantage of the 'never say no to a customer' policy.

"Can I try the peppermint stick?" Erica asked, innocently, as she popped the small red spoon in the trashcan next to her.

"Haven't you already tried the peppermint stick?" Judy asked in a monotone. She already knew every flavor Erica tried because she'd tried them all a thousand times.

"Yes, and I'd like to try it again."

Judy hung her head low as she leaned her tired arms on the counter, holding her upright. Erica seemed immune to her depleted stance and raised her eyebrows in expectation. But Judy couldn't handle the counter anymore. "Steve!" She called out.

He didn't respond and Judy left no time before she burst through the door, cutting Steve and Dustin's squabbling off immediately, "All right, babysitting time is over for you. You need to get out there." She turned her head, finding that her white board no longer showed Steve's "YOU SUCK" tally. Instead, the Russian alphabet and its English equivalent. "Hey, my board! That was important data, fartheads."

"I guarantee you, what's happening right now is more important than your data." Dustin countered bitterly.

"Yeah? And how do you know these Russians are up to no good, anyways?"
Dustin turned to Steve in shock, and without a hint of irony: "How does she know about the Russians?"
