"She said it was her brother." Aymen's voice says through the phone speaker.

"And which direction did she went?" I ask, standing behind my desk watching the busy roads below.

"Right. Most probably by the seaside if I am not wrong." She pauses. "She said she will be back in fifteen minutes. It's been twenty minutes, should I sent Ali behind?"

"No." I say looking down at her, watching her walk towards the office building, she constantly kept wiping her face with the sleeve of her cardigan.

She cried again.

As if feeling my eyes, she looks up at me. She looked so small from here. It made me feel so protective of her. Like I wanted to hide her from the world so no one could harm her.

She looks down and walks inside the building.

"She is here." Aymen says. "And she looks fine. Alhumdulliah."

"Confirm with Ali about today's meeting." I say to Aymen before placing back the phone on the receiver.

My eyes fall on the shopping bag beside my desk and I take out the teddy bear out of it.

Leaning against my desk, I press the centre of the toy and smile hearing the teddy repeat 'I love you'

I remember how Noor was so happy hearing this teddy's voice.

When that little girl cried for that toy, I wanted nothing more than to buy all the toys in the world which would make her happy.

But Manar is right. She is her mother. She knows what's right and what's wrong for her. It's no harm if she wants to buy something for her daughter by her own money. Everyone deserves to earn that right.

I shouldn't have purchased it just because I am fascinated by her.

If that was her reaction when she saw the teddy, what would she say when she gets to know I even brought that gold heart pendent too?

I place the teddy back in the bag and then pause. Why should I return it?

Maybe I could give it to Noor in the future when...when whatever time is right.

I take the teddy and place it inside my oak wood file cabinet which I rarely use. That way, no one could see it and it will be safe as well.

I walk out of my office and spot Manar by her desk, she was staring at the computer screen which was showed the homescreen.

Carefully, I walk towards her and knock on her desk softly.

She startles, her hand immediately going to find something. She grabs a pen and raises it in a defensive manner.

I raise my hand up, stepping away from her desk.

"Calm down, Manar."

She blinks rapidly and looks at the pen in her grip and drops it as if it burned her.
