I look over my shoulder, watching Manar angrily stomping away towards the staircase, my phone still held up on my ear, Sharmin kept saying something but I only followed her with my eyes until she fully disappeared.
"—will that be okay?—Mahib are you there?"
"Sorry." I clear my throat. "What were you saying?"
"I was saying I will send my driver later by this evening to collect my sunglasses which I left in your office, will that be okay?"
I pinch the bridge of my nose. "Yeah."
"Gosh, Mahib what's wrong with you? Did you saw your woman or what?"
I look over my shoulder to the empty spot she stood and reply. "I did."
She laughs. "Oh my, you are exactly like Sheher described."
"Why did you lied saying she told you seven months before?"
"Because that's exactly the time you met Manar, didn't you?"
I nod. "Uhm. Don't do that thing again without informing me."
"Well, when Sheher was talking to me last week about both you, I thought—"
"I said don't do it." I say with finality in my tone. "I don't need support, I can handle my life by my own. Thank you for your concern but if my sister says something about my life, listen it and go back to your life, don't be nosy. I mean it, Sharmin."
"Geez, sorry I guess. You did no better by stranding me alone in your office."
"Served you right." I say. "Goodbye."
I hang up the call and watch out of the wall of windows.
Sharmin is my second cousin of my grandmother's second marriage, very far if you ask. She is no harm but she is too nosy for her own good.
She always tries to stir some drama albeit innocently but that's always her intention. And I can guarantee hundred percent Sheherzad didn't said her anything, if anything, Sheher hates her because Sharmin also tried to stir some drama between her and Javed. I know she had someone sniffing around for information just because she was bored.
No one in the three families likes to be near her vicinity.
Thats why when she dragged me to my office, I had left immediately and came downstairs to Noor.
But I have to say I liked seeing the jealousy on Manar's face.
During our university days, I had no one in my sight except her and luckily no girl came in my way, or maybe even if someone did I didn't care to notice.
