"I love her so much, It physically pains me to imagine a life without her, I feel like I won't survive a single second, without her. I feel I am drowning and only she could save me, But here I am, drowning without her, and she'...

I stare at the white pristine tiles of the hospital room.
My mind raced with no thoughts.
My heart heavy from Manar's confession.
My eyes burned from anger. But I kept my eyes on the floor, my fists balled up by my chin.
"He isn't dead."
I lift my eyes upto Manar who sat beside me, her mismatched eyes red from crying all night. Her face puffy and her lips chapped.
The early morning light infiltrates through the blinds, casting a shadow of lines on Manar's face.
We sat the whole night in the room after Noor was admitted in emergency and was diagnosed with an epidemic viral infection which was a variant of chickenpox.
The doctors treated her and her fever is now under control although it would take quite a few time for her body to regenerate platelets to strengthen her immunity.
After making sure Noor was asleep and I posted a security personnel at the room's door then I sat down beside Manar and she told me about her past.
Manar grabs Noor's hand and caresses her small palm which was covered with tubes and needles. A tear falls down her eye, she looks at me with her red lined eyes. "Why aren't you saying anything?"
I keep my eyes on the floor, various thoughts racing my mind, but most evident- fury. "Manar, I...I am very furious right now. If I could find where that piece of shit is, I will find him and kill him with my bare hands not caring if I go to jail. He..." I take a painful breath, "He hurt you Manar. He crushed you completely, he took everything from you. And I am not okay with that. I want to take account of each and every day, every minute, every second of the moment he tormented you, when he-" I ball my fist, resisting the urge to drive my fist into the wall which would scare Manar and Noor. "He will pay for what he did, I will make sure."
Manar silently looks at Noor, her tears showcasing a tale of helplessness and pain.
Oh Manar. Why couldn't I find you earlier? Why couldn't I save you from that pain?
If I could, I would give my life for to save Manar from going through that torture.
Why is time not in our favour?
Trying to simmer my anger, I try to take few calming breaths and wipe the angry tears from the eyes harshly.
"What happened when you reached here?"
Manar traces the pattern of the white sheets with her fingers. "That maintenance boy made a solid visa for me, but having just a visa isn't enough to live. Once I came out of the airport, I walked to the taxi stand and stood there for an hour. Everyone over there had somewhere to go, except me." Tears forms in her eyes again. "I would never forget that moment, I kept looking around as if someone would come and say 'There you are Manar, we were looking for you, you suffered enough, let's go now'." Her lips quiver, "No one came. I stood there, and then I cried."
