"I love her so much, It physically pains me to imagine a life without her, I feel like I won't survive a single second, without her. I feel I am drowning and only she could save me, But here I am, drowning without her, and she'...

"What happened?" Mrs. Muqaddes gives me a glass of water. "Did anyone said something to you?"
I take the glass from her and take a sip. "No." I trace the rim of the glass. "I met my brother."
Mrs. Muqaddes gasps. "Why is he here?"
"He said he is here for some work." I say. "He asked me to come back."
Anger fills her eyes. "How dare he say that? Doesn't he know what you been through? How can he say that?"
I look at my lap, stroking Noor's hairs back as she lays down watching rhymes on Mrs. Muqaddes's tv.
"My elder brother has cancer."
Mrs. Muqaddes gasps. "What? Since when?"
I shrug tiredly. "I have no idea." I look down at Noor. "And I don't want to know."
Mrs. Muqaddes taps my hand. "Are you sure about it?"
No.
"Yes." I reply.
I place my hand on my swollen eyes and wince. Why did out of all places did I had breakdown in office? And in front of Mahib? Why?
"I had a breakdown in office." I say. "I started crying like a baby with colic when Mahib said 'we all are human' and I couldn't control myself."
"Oh, my sweet girl." Mrs. Muqaddes taps my face. "Did he comfort you?"
I nod, stroking Noor's hairs, "He did."
Even in words he doesn't know, he made me remember the time nine years and when he used to comfort me in the same manner. That was a part reason why I cried so much.
I cringe at myself. How am I going to face people in office tomorrow? Why couldn't I control my emotions?
And why did I said that last sentence to Mahib?
At that moment, I felt so angry at our fates. So helpless, so weak.
I wanted to talk with Mahib, I could. But when I talk to him, I feel like I am just talking to his reflection. Not wholly him. And I have known a whole Mahib, who I gave my heart to.
"He is a nice man, your boss."
I look at Mrs. Muqaddes. "He is." I agree.
"You shouldn't have been so hard on him." She clicks her tongue. "He didn't do anything bad by buying Noor a toy."
"It's not about that toy, Mrs. Muqaddes." I look at Noor. "It was about my pride, my self respect. I know his intentions weren't bad, he is innocent. But that day, only I had the right to buy anything for my daughter with my money."
"I understand you, my daughter." She taps my hand. "And I understand him too."
She looks at Noor. "And this little angel too, she deserves some beautiful persons in her life. If you want, if you choose right, you can give her a better life. And without all of that, I am sure you will give her a better life regardless."
