Fifteen days later, Noor finally got discharged from the hospital.
The fever wasn't severe as before but because she had low immunity, the doctors had to keep her in observation longer than necessary.
Me and Mahib and agreed with the doctors as long as it concerns Noor's wellbeing. So after total of twenty days spending in the hospital, Noor had finally seen the outside world.
She looks curiously outside the window, trying to shove away the belts of the car seat off her.
Car seat. Yes. Mahib had a car seat installed in his car.
What could I say about this man.
Mahib opens the door to my new apartment and places my bags by the coat rack. "Spray the antiseptic liquid on it and then take them inside."
I nod, closing the door as he takes Noor inside the room and lays on her new cot that I purchased few days ago. I bought something for my daughter with my own money. I was happy shopping for her.
"Did she fell asleep?"
He nods, placing a blanket on top of her. "She did. Doctor did said the medicine given to her will have side effects of lethargy."
He closes the room and door and goes to the kitchen to wash his hands.
"Sheher said she had kept food in the fridge, I will warm it up for us." I say after washing my hands.
Mahib shakes his head. "You eat, I am not hungry."
"Mahib." I click my tongue. "You haven't ate breakfast too. If you keep skipping your meals I will complain to Auntie."
He narrows his eyes at me. "Since when do you complain to my mother?"
I open the fridge and take out the containers. "Since you forget about yourself so much."
"Great." He mutters under his breath. "Now I have..." he counts on his fingers. "Three ladies fussing about my habits."
I put the container in the microwave. "Why not Saboor and Eman?"
"Saboor barely looks after herself and well Eman too, so they are in no position to judge me." He pulls out a chair from the dining table and sits on it. "You shouldn't too, but since you care after Noor, I can consider you to judge me."
"Why, thank you." I open the shelf to take out plates when an idea forms in my head. "Would you eat sandwich?"
He raises an eyebrow. "A sandwich?"
I nod and take out the loaf of bread from the pantry which my brother and Deeba had restocked two days ago for me.
"Egg sandwich, extra spicy." I say taking out two eggs from the fridge and heat up a pan after adding oil in it.
