I jump back hearing a car honk.

I tighten my hold on Noor and cross the road. Unlike me, she was unaware of what just happened back at the day care.

He had similar eyes like her.

I look at my daughter's eyes and the familiar feeling of fear roped my gut.

The only man who had same eyes like her was....

I shake my head furiously and continue to walk on the sidewalk.

I was supposed to take a bus or taxi but after getting out of the day care, my mind didn't worked except sending me the signals of just getting out of there.

I don't think I should send back Noor there. If he can find us there then it shouldn't be much difficult to find where I work.

My feet falters at the pavement. The letter. It was no mistake. It was him.

J.N.

Foolishly I was wishing it wasn't him and someone was playing a nasty prank with me. Who was I trying to gaslight?

A feeling of cold dread washes over me. He knows where I live.

If the letters could come, if he could find the day care of Noor, then he can...

Someone crashes me from behind and I stumble forward, barely finding my footing.

I turn around and glare at the woman who looked at me with horror her shopping bags fallen down on the pavement.

"I am so sorry!" She holds her hands up. "My foot tripped. I am sorry. It wasn't intentional."

I place a hand on my daughter. "Be careful where you walk."

She bends down and starts collecting her shopping bags, dark hairs falling off the hair clip, her pale face flushed with embarrassment. "I apologise, I really do. I am so sorry. Is your baby okay?"

Feeling bad, I bend down and help her with her bags despite struggling with my own.

"Oh thank you." She takes the bag from my hand. "Again..." her eyes falls on my hand and she pauses.

I follow her line of sight to my left index finger where I always wear my mother's ruby ring.

Her eyebrows raise and I snatch my hand back. Something crosses her face and she looks at my face, her eyebrows now reaching her hairline. "Manar..?"

I step back in shock and fear. "How do you know my name?"

The dark haired woman smiles. "You are Manar." She smiles widely. "I am Andaleeb."
