Not answers. This time I will take accountability of actions from everyone.
I walk past the secretary's desk, ignoring her protests, I push the office door and come face to face with the most despised person.
His secretary looks at him with fear. "I tried to stop him—"
"You can leave, Liza." Khalid dismisses her with a flick of his wrist.
When the door closes, he grins like a Cheshire Cat. "Judging from your joyous expressions, I take it my old friend is back."
I walk towards his desk and lean my palms on the desk. "Why did you return?"
He raises his eyebrows. "I beg your pardon?"
"You heard me. You might love to spread chaos but you never ever meddle in someone's business until you have a gain in it." I lean forward. "So tell me who or what motivated you?"
He leans back on his seat, a smirk playing on his lips. "What makes you say I can work for someone?"
"So you are working with someone." I confirm, standing back. "Name, Malik."
He clicks his tongue. "Fine you got me. But I am under a contract of not spilling the details."
I narrow my eyes. "What would it take to open your mouth?"
He grins. "Now we are talking." He taps a pen on the desk. "There is a sweet old couple in your board group, are there not?"
I nod. "There are."
"Fire them."
I scoff. "And why would I do that?"
"Because I am saying so."
"And I don't believe you."
He shrugs. "Your loss, Khan."
I take out the envelope from the inner pocket of my coat and pass it to him, "I was wishing I wouldn't have to use it against you."
With weary expressions, he opens the envelope and skims over the photographs, his eyes filling with rage with each photo.
He slams the photos on the desk and gets up, seething in anger. "How dare you spy on my family?"
"Oh how dare you meddle in my life?" I push him back. "Tit for tat, Malik."
"I want them gone." He angrily points at the photographs.
"You know the conditions."
He takes a breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. "You won't like it."
