"Earth to Mahib." Zayed snaps his fingers in front of my face making me snap out of my thoughts.

"I am." I say distractedly, watching out the road in front of me.

"I am too young to die." Zayed says, flipping open his tablet cover. "Please keep that in mind."

"Of course I know." I change lanes on the freeway. "You never let me forget."

I drive silently for a while as Zayed gets engrossed working on the tab.

"By the way..." he doesn't lasts two seconds without talking. "What's with that smile?"

"Can't I smile without a reason?"

He chuckles. "You can. But when a man smiles out of nowhere, either he is on the brink of insanity or in love." He pokes my arm. "What's your poison?"

"A perfect mix of both." I mutter.

"So it is love!" He confirm, slapping the dashboard with excitement.

"I didn't—"

"Does she feel the same?"

"I don't know." I throw one hand up. "It's...no it's not complicated but it's also not ignored?"

"Why are there so many questions?"

"Because there are."

"Then clear them."

"I want to, of course."

"But..?"

"But," I tap my thumb on the wheel. "But I guess she is not yet in terms with her past. I want to give her space, some clarity before I reveal my intentions."

"When you give space, there is also distance created. So don't put up with the space thing for so long that you lose her somewhere in between."

I look at Zayed in shock. "Since when did you got so smart?"

I turn right in the lane to the cafe where we are supposed to meet with Eman and Manar.

"I always was." Zayed looks at the tab and taps his fingers on his knee. "Just like I figured out how shitty your marketing skills are. Literally close to zero."

I park my car and get out, noticing Zayed still fussing on his tablet. "Our marketing team does a fine job."

"They don't." He clicks his tongue as we both walk towards the cafe's entrance door. "They don't do a job at all."

"Zayed, we are architecture firm not some perfume company who would need marketing experience."

"You don't understand Mahib. Architecture firms should also have good marketing skills."

I spot Eman and Manar seated by a booth at the corner of the cafe from where the small pond of the cafe was visible.

They both were mid way in a conversation and Eman says something which makes Manar smiles.
