"I love her so much, It physically pains me to imagine a life without her, I feel like I won't survive a single second, without her. I feel I am drowning and only she could save me, But here I am, drowning without her, and she'...

"Because the last thing he said to me nine years ago was that he hates me."
"What?" I stare at Manar is shock. "Who hates you?"
That sounded so offensive on my behalf. Who could possibly hate her?
Eman looks at me and gestures at Manar. "I was asking her about what happened yesterday."
Manar rubs her index and middle finger together, visibly distressed. "I was talking about my brother, the one I told you about."
I raise my eyebrows in surprise. Since when Eman and Manar are so close? Eman doesn't give a damn about anyone in this office.
I still nod, looking at both of them skeptically. "Alright, if Eman you are done talking, can we leave?"
Eman nods and looks at Manar. "See you later."
When Eman walks out of the conference room, I raise an eyebrow at her walking behind her.
"Say whatever you want, Mahib." She stops walking and folds her arms.
"You seem keen on being friends with Manar." I point out.
She shrugs. "So what?"
"I am just curious."
"Don't be." She starts walking again.
"What's your motive?"
She turns around and gives me an absurd look. "What does that mean?"
"I mean..." I walk towards her, "If you have any motive by being friends with Manar, don't. Anyone but her, Eman."
Her eyes widen slightly, she lifts her hand and wipes her hand on her mouth, but I don't fail to catch how she tried to hide that smile. "You think I have a motive?"
I shrug. "I know you."
She chuckles. "Apparently, not enough." She points at the meeting room from where Manar just exited. "Trust me, you'll laugh one day."
I frown. "On what?"
She sighs as she opens the door of her cabin, "I'll tell you when."
"You are being so suspicious right now." I follow her in her cabin.
"Anyway, today is phupho's birthday, right? What's your plan?" She changes the topic.
I let it slide for the moment, because no one knows how Eman's mind works.
"Nothing special," I reply. "Saboor is trying to bake a cake."
She winces. "Her cooking skills are horrible but I love her spirit."
I nod. "That's why we don't say anything."
"You better not." She smiles. "Always make sure your little sister stays little."
