"The meeting went well." Ali takes a reliving breath. "I almost thought he wouldn't invest."

"Hm." I say distractedly zooming on the picture Zayed send me of Noor and Manar at the restaurant they went on a lunch break.

It was a selfie Zayed took in the car where Noor was crying in his arms and Manar looked at Noor with a small smile as Zayed struggled with her.

I react that photo with a heart and close my phone.

It has been a good week. Ever since Noor called me 'baba' I feel so elated, I feel like I should bring all the happiness and keep at her little feet and protect her from all the harsh things of this world.

"Sir?"

I snap my eyes at Ali who had the receiver up. "You have a visitor."

"Who?"

Khalid looks at the phone as if to make sure and then looks back at me. "Aymen says it's some Khalid Malik."

My spine snaps straight. That name. Why do I feel so much resentment when I barely have the recollection of it.

"I don't.." Something in my gut says I shouldn't ignore this. "Allow him in."

Ali nods. "Send him up." His nose twitches. "Your cousin needs to learn some manners."

"And you need to spare Aymen." I say buttoning up my coat. "Seriously, you both act like two cats or siblings."

Ali grimaces. "I'll take the cat comment."

I open the conference room door and walk out. "Send him in my cabin."

Most of the employees have long finished their works and went out except for few who were in my group for a new project.

I was rolling up my shirt sleeves when I hear the door being open.

"What's wrong Ali—?"

It wasn't Ali. Instead it was a man with a shark smile and chameleon eyes.

Instead unease churns in my stomach as he closes the door and walks towards my desk and drops to a chair, sitting like he owns this place.

I raise an eyebrow. "Excuse me? Do I know you?"

He chuckles. "Come on now, Khan. I know we hated each other in uni, but don't be so harsh bro."

Anger ticks my blood. "I don't remember us being in uni together."

His lips twitches. "You are joking."
