New beginnings

"Are you ready for high school guys?" You ask. Luke and Charlie are starting high school today. They are both really nervous. "it'll be fine don't worry." Bianca, who is a junior reassures them. "I'm the most popular girl in school. I got connection, so if anybody messes with you guys tell me." "got it." After back to school breakfast (chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes) and checking the kids bags you do first day of school pictures. The kids love the photo shoot. Luke is wearing basketball shorts and a black V-neck T-shirt. Charlie is wearing black jeans and a light blue T-shirt. Bianca is wearing a light green long sleeved crop top with blue ripped jeans. "Umm, no." Nico comes down the stairs and exclaims. "What." "You're not wearing that top." "But dad-." "no."  "Nico she can wear it it's fine." "But-." "no buts." Bianca turns to you. "thanks mom." "anytime honey." The kids, then grab their backpacks, give you and Nico kisses and hugs and then head out the front door.

Later that day

You and Nico are in the kitchen cooking dinner. He's chopping a pepper while you're cooking chicken. "I can't believe the twins are in high school already." You exclaim. "I know right. And Bianca will be in college in two years." "Yeah." You get quiet. "You good honey." "Yeah. I'm just thinking about how our baby girl will be in college in two years. It feels like yesterday she was a baby." "Yeah me too." At that second Luke and Charlie burst in through the front door. They're both very sweaty. "Hey guys, how was school." "It was stressful, but amazing." Luke answers breathlessly. "How was football practice." "That was also good." "How about the two of you-." "Take showers. Yeah." They finish for you. They both run up the stairs. Fiveteen minutes later Bianca arrives. "Hi, Mom, Hi Dad." "Hi sweetheart. How was school." "It was good. First day of school stress, but totally amazing." "That's nice." She then goes up the stairs to take a shower. You leave the kitchen to go to the entry hall. You take the kids backpacks and hang them up on the hooks. "Jeez. This is heavy." You exclaim when picking up Charlie's bag. When the kids come down half an hour later, you all sit at the dining table and share about your day. The twins had an amazing day. Charlie shares that a ton of girls where flirting with him and trying to give him their numbers. "This girl, Alexa. She followed me everywhere. She kept trying to give me her phone number and In the end I gave in. It was hilarious." "That's cool." After dinner, the kids head to their rooms to start their homework. After they've been up their for five minutes, Luke calls  you upstairs. He need help with his algebra. After helping him with the basics, you go to you and Nico's room to get ready for bed. He comes in a few minutes later and joins you on the bed. He picks up his phone and starts playing a game. You're scrolling through Pinterest. At eleven the two of you go to sleep. "Night Neeks." "Night my love." He kisses your forehead as you're falling asleep.
