The twins turned one a week ago and Bianca threw them a huge birthday party. (Y/n) and I helped of course, but Bianca did the planning. I walk into the house after work and I see (Y/n) and three-year-old Bianca sitting at the dining table. They're working on Bianca's family tree project. The Jackson kids, the Grace kids, and some of the other kids go to a school that's for demigods and legacies. "Hey, baby. Welcome home." "Hi, love." "How was work?" "It was good, but we have to talk." "Okay." I join Bianca and (Y/n) at the table. "Bianca, how about you go get your new toy to show Daddy." "Kay Mommy." She runs out of the room to go find her toy. "So, what did you want to talk about." "Well so, for work we're having a business trip to California. It's a week long. It would be better if I was there but I don't have to if you don't want me to." "It's okay. I'll manage. it's only a week. Bianca's three and Luke and Charlie are one I'll be able to take care of them for a week." "Are you sure?" "Yeah." "Thanks." "Daddy, this is the toy I won at school today." She shows me a Barbie doll. "That's so cool honey." "Daddy." Luke and Charlie walk over. "Hi, my babies. I missed you." I pull them into a hug. (Y/n) clears her throat. "You just walked into the house and sat me down for a conversation. You didn't even give me a hug or kiss." "Sorry, baby." I give her a kiss and the kids cover their eyes. "Eww."
A week later
This week has been so stressful. The conference went well but all the planning that went into it was stressful. I unlock the front door and walk into the house. "Nico." (Y/n) runs up to me and hugs me. I pick her up and twirl her in the air. "Hey, babe." "Daddy." Bianca Luke and Charlie all run into the room. "Daddy we missed you." "I missed you too." "Come on. We have something to show you." (Y/n) laughs and leads me to the kitchen. On the counter is a cake with the words Welcome Home Daddy on it. I smile even wider. "We made this for you." Bianca announces. "Aww thank you so much." (Y/n) cuts five slices and then puts them on plates. "Oh my gosh, this is so good." "Guess what flavor it is." "Umm. Mint." She shakes her head. "Chocolate." "Close." "Mint chocolate." "Correct." We all eat the cake and end up finishing it all. Charlie and Binaca are running around all over the house and Luke has passed out from the sugar. (Y/n) and I exchange a look then start running after the kids. After rounding up all the kids and putting them to bed,(Y/n) sit on our bed and watch a movie. Halfway through the movie (Y/n) falls asleep. I pause it and turn off my laptop. I pull the quilt over her and then lay down next to her. I watch her as she sleeps until I fall asleep.
