Iskra stared out at the open waters, feet dangling off the edge as her teeth chattered from stress. Instead of butterflies swarming her stomach it felt like whales were. Weighing her down, pushing her to the ground.

Her eyes glanced to her solid bicep, looking at the crimp underneath her long sleeved shirt. With hesitation she slowly lifted the sleeve up to her shoulder, revealing a red bracelet, one she use to wear proudly on her wrist.

"I like it."

Aangs sudden voice startled Iskra and she quickly covered the bracelet, facing him with wide eyes.

"Why'd you hide it?" He asks, sitting next to her.

Iskra looks out at the sea again, shaking her head and pulling her bottom lip between her teeth, nibbling on it to calm her anxious demeanour.

"Have you ever talked before?" Aang looked out at the sea with her.

Her head slowly nods, smiling slightly as she released her bottom lip and let out a small sigh.

"Do you think you'll ever talk again?"

Iskra asked her self the same question every day, every time someone talked to her, every time she thought of her past.

Facing her full body to Aang, Iskra lifts up her sleeve again and reveals the bracelet. She un clips it, turning it inside out and handing it to Aang. Confused, he takes it form her hands and looks at it carefully.

"I don't understand," Aang whispers.

Iskra points to a faint engraving on the leather underside, nodding her head towards it in hopes Aang will read it.

"Is- Iskra?" Aang rubs his head.

She nods her head, smiling kindly as he looks up at her slim face, eyes wondering over her own before it clicks in his mind.

"Iskra! Your names Iskra!" Aang screams, jumping up and down which makes her chuckle.

"Is everything okay?" Sokka screams as well, jumping out of the cave they found, boomerang in hand.

"Her names Iskra!" Aang points at her.

"You talked?!" Sokka's jaw falls open.

"No, she showed me this," Aang hands Sokka the bracelet.

Iskra immediately stands up, taking the bracelet from Sokka and clipping it to her bicep again. Rolling down the sleeve, she sits on the edge again.

"Why can't Sokka see?" Aang asks slowly.

She looks up at Aang, glistening eyes, desperate to speak but she just shakes her head and stay silent.

"You can trust us Iskra," Sokka sits down, placing a hand on her back in comfort.

Iskra nods, smiling at Sokka as she leans her head on his shoulder. Aang sat next to them, copying Iskra and leaning his head on Sokka.

They watched the sun set behind the horizon, slowly counting down the hours till Katara can be safe again and far away from the fire nation.
