The following night everyone gathered around the fire again; enjoying each others company. Zuko tested his luck, sitting down next to Iskra but she stood up and walked away. Defeated, he offered to make everyone tea so she'd hopefully talk to him.
"No one can make tea like Uncle , but hopefully I learned a thing or two," He said, pouring the tea. "Would you like to hear Uncle's favourite tea joke?"
"I like jokes," Aang smiled giddily as Zuko handed the tea to everyone.
"Okay, well I can't remember how it starts but the punchline is 'Leaf me alone I'm bushed'," Zuko tried to remember.
No one laughed, just staring at him as they waited for the joke to finish. Iskra giggled, covering her mouth because she knew the joke, Zuko told her when they were young.
"It's nice to get a chance to relax a little, it hardly ever happens," Toph sighed happily.
Zuko walked to Sokka and Iskra, handing them the final two teas with a smile. Neither of them returned it.
"Can I talk to you two for a second?" Sokka asked suddenly.
As he walked away Zuko and Iskra shared a quickly glance before she stood up, following him.
"So what's up?" Zuko wondered once they where far enough from the others.
"If someone was captured by the fire nation, where would they be taken?" He said.
"What do you mean? Who was captured?" Zuko furrowed his brows.
"When the invasion plan failed some of our troops were taken. I just want to know where they might be," Sokka shrugged, looking at Iskra. "Do you think they'd be where you were?"
"Maybe some of them, the prison I was in was meant for high stake prisoners," She explained. "Your father wouldn't be there because he's not a bender."
"Then where would he be?" Sokka turned to Zuko.
"I can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"Trust me, knowing will just make you feel worse," Zuko turned to walk away.
Sokka's shoulders slumped, he just wanted to know if his father would be okay. Iskra grabbed Zukos bicep, pulling him back when she saw how upset it made Sokka.
Zuko turned around immediately, only looking at Iskra and she froze, her hand stuck on his arm.
"Um," Sokka cleared his throat and she retracted her hand. "I need to know what I put my dad through."
"It's not good Sokka," Zuko said softly, eyes never leaving Iskra's face.
"Please."
"My guess is they were taken to the Boiling Rock," He looked at Sokka.
"What's that?" Sokka asked.
"The second highest security prison in the fire nation, its an island in the middle of a boiling lake," Zuko explained. "It's inescapable."
"So where is this place?" Sokka asked slowly.
"Sokka," Iskra warned.
"What? I just want to know," He shrugged.
"It's in the middle of a volcano between here and the fire nation, you guys actually flew right past it on your way here," Zuko told him.
