The warm sun shone down on everyone, tanning their skin as they flew on Appa to Ember Island. Zuko said they could stay in his fathers old house; completely undetected and concealed.
Once Appa landed in the large courtyard, everyone collected their things, following Zuko to seperate rooms so they could unpack.
After settling in, Katara, Toph, Iskra, Zuko and Aang headed back to the courtyard. They talked briefly before deciding they should train.
"Can't I have a break?" Aang groaned when Zuko insisted they trained.
"No," He shrugged.
The weather was warm, humidity clinging to everyone's bodies like a wet kiss of pure sweat. Aang and Zuko took off their shirts, assuming position to begin bending.
"Iskra you should join them," Toph nudged her shoulder.
"I don't know," She fanned her face gently.
"Come on Iskra, you need to keep firebending," Toph pleaded.
"I'd like to learn from you and Zuko," Aang added with a smile.
Her eyes flunked between each person, studying their expressions. They all looked patient, waiting for her answer and keen for a 'yes'.
"I guess your right, as long as no one gets hurt," Iskra nodded, standing up.
The three stood horizontal of each other, drawing their hands back and launching fire with practise.
Iskra's flames contrasted to the others. The blue standing out against their orange and she contemplated turning it down. She didn't want to hurt anyone.
After many minutes in the scorching sun, they bowed to one another, taking a quick break before they would return.
"Doesn't it seem kind of weird that we're hiding from the fire lord in his own house?" Katara asked from the shade.
"I told you, my father hasn't come here since our family was actually happy," Zuko promised as he wiped the sweat off his neck. "And that was a long time ago."
He sat on near by bricks, skin glistening with sweat under the sun. His muscles bulged and his abs drew eyes towards them naturally. Iskra's lips softy parted, eyes unable to tear away from the sight.
"It's the last place anyone would think to look for us," He finished.
Her eyes finally parted from his body, looking at the vast trees around them whilst she thought.
Whenever Zuko's family would come to ember island, she would return to the orphanage. Ozai didn't want her there and Zhao didn't want her at all. Zuko would always tell her how amazing it was, she would've loved to see it, but now that she is. It's underwhelming.
"You guys are not gonna believe this!" Sokka announced as him and Suki ran towards everyone.
Zuko looked over to Iskra; eyes widening slightly as they skimmed over her beautiful face and figure.
Her colar bone was defined as she breathed heavily, biceps showing strength as she crossed her arms. Her pants hung dangerously low on her round hips, drawing eyes to the exposed stomach, covered in a thin layer of sweat. The position of her arms led her breasts to be pushed together; a line showing through the top.
Zuko peeled his eyes away, focusing on what Sokka had to say in attempt of distraction. His hands ran up his thighs, squeezing slightly as he groaned softy.
"There's a play about us," Sokka said proudly.
"We were just in town and we found this poster," Suki explained as he showed the poster.
A painting of Aang, Sokka and Katara was drawn on the poster with Zukos recognisable eyes behind. Iskra stood in a firebender stance below, fire protruding from her fingertips. They made her look like she was just a firebender.
"How is that possible?" Katara asked as everyone gathered around.
"Listen to this; the boy in the iceberg is a new production from acclaimed playwright Puan Tin," Sokka read the poster. "Who scoured the globe gathering information on the avatar from the icy South Pole to the heart of Ba Sing Se."
"His sources include, singing nomads, pirates, prisoners of war, and a surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage," Suki continued. "Brought to you by the critically acclaimed Ember Island Players."
"Ugh," Zuko groaned. "My mother used to take us to see them. They butchered 'love amongst the Dragons' every year."
"So you really think it's a good idea for us to attend a play about ourselves?" Katara wondered.
"No," Iskra grabbed the poster from him, looking at it closely.
"Come on, a day at the theatre?" Sokka pleaded. "This is the kind of wacky time wasting nonsense I've been missing."
"They've got it all wrong," Iskra sighed. "They think I'm a firebender."
"You are a firebender," Sokka said like it was a question.
"I know that, but I wore earth kingdom clothes, what is this?" Iskra shoved the poster in everyone's faces.
"Hey, it'll be fun," Zuko held her bicep, taking the poster from her hands.
Their eyes met, emotions piling behind and barely visible to anyone watching their connection.
"Wait, don't tell me, oh my!" Sokka squealed, pointing between the two.
"What are you squealing about?" Aang asked as Zuko and Iskra stepped away from one another.
It's not like they were hiding the attraction they felt for each other but they just wanted to keep it to themselves for some time.
"Zuko and Iskra are finally together!" Sokka jumped up and down. "Took you long enough!"
"We're no-."
"They've actually been together for a while," Toph interrupted. "Zuko has been sneaking into her tent every night."
"It's happening!" Sokka held Zuko and Iskra in a group hug.
"Sokka your squishing us," She said with a chuckle.
"Oh sorry, you two probably don't want me in the hug," He let go, winking with a smirk.
"Yes,ok, we are dating and I apologise Toph, I wasn't thinking that you could see us," Iskra apologised.
"It's ok, I just picked my feet up," She shrugged.
"Wait, so are we going to the play?" Aang asked.
"Yes!" Everyone said
"No."
"Over ruled," Sokka smiles at Iskra.
She rolls her eyes, shaking her head when everyone but her agreed to seeing the stupid play.
"I'm the oldest, therefore my vote counts as 5," She crossed her arms.
"Ok but you'd still be outnumbered," Sokka said slowly.
"Ugh," Iskra groaned, walking away as she mumbled. "Stupid numbers."
As she stormed off, rocks launched from the ground, piling over her head as they hit the area around her. Her stride turned into a circle, soft fire skimming off her feet.
"Do we, say something?" Suki thought out loud.
"Just give her a couple seconds," Zuko watched her with a smile.
After a couple seconds, her movements stopped and the rocks and flames ended. She shook her head, smiling brightly whilst walking back to them.
"Let's go see this play."
