Iskra sighed, warmth spreading through her body with distinction to the cold morning weather. The sun began to rise; clouds itching away to reveal it.
Everything was silent. The small moment before everything was awoken. The small moment when the world was at peace from the raging war.
It was moments like these that made Iskra forget the pain and loss; instead thinking of everything she felt so blessed to possess.
A perfect contrast of heat and cold circled her tent; the cold coming from outside and the heat from Zuko's body behind her.
He trailed circles on her waist, fiddling with the material of her shirt gently. They embraced the love and silence with opens arms as they laid with one another.
Kisses prepped along her exposed shoulder, trailing up her neck till reaching her soft lips, pecking them kindly. She smiled, rolling over to face him.
"Hi," He whispered, mesmerised by her beauty, her eyes, her hair, her.
"Hi," Iskra smiled, hiding her giggle.
Zuko stayed the night, insisting they wouldn't part again after being separated for so long. He didn't let go of her the entire night, and he intends to do the same for the rest of their lives.
Iskra crinkled her nose, letting out a soft laugh whilst Zuko just gazed. Her beauty was indescribable; like the sky seconds before turning pitch black or a drop of water rolling effortlessly of a fresh leaf. Indescribable. Beautiful.
"Are you okay?" Iskra asked slowly with a slight smile.
He tilted his head softly, lips barely parted as his eyes bathed in every aspect of her beautiful persona.
"You are so beautiful Issy," Zuko cupped her face, rubbing it gently.
She held the back of his hand, flashing her white teeth in a kind smile, he could've fainted right then and there.
"We should skip breakfast and stay in here," He kissed her hand, holding it in his.
"They'll think we're still asleep and come to wake us up," Iskra pointed out.
"I didn't really think it through," He shrugged.
She threw her head back, rolling her eyes with a chuckle. He smiled; an ear to ear smile from the utter joy she expressed because of him.
"You need to apologise to Katara," Iskra reminded him, poking his shoulder.
Zuko mentally groaned, squeezing his eyes shut momentarily. He wanted nothing more than to just hold Iskra. But if he didn't apologise, he wouldn't get to hold her again.
"I know," he sighed. "Just a bit longer?"
He kissed her entire face passionately, causing her to laugh loudly, covering her mouth so she didn't wake the others.
"You have to," she pushed him back gently.
"Okay," he kissed her one last time.
Zuko waited, testing her patience till she finally pushed him off the floor and he groaned with a smile. Before leaving the tent he pulled his shirt back on, turning to face her with a smirk.
"Bye," he smiled giddily, beaming with pure joy.
"Go," Iskra threw a pebble at him, barely able to hide her smile.
"Okay," he laughed, walking out and shutting the tent curtain behind him.
As soon as thecurtain closed she buried her face in her hands, trying to conceal her smile. She bit her lips, shaking her head with a giggle. She was in love. Head over heals. Now she was just finally admitting it.
