Iskra ran out of the cell, heart thumping as she trotted down the stairs. There was no way he was telling the truth. Her mother is dead. Her village is dead. She felt it.

Shaking the thoughts out of her head led her to needing to find Zuko, and Sokka and Suki. She imagined they'd be together thinking of an escape plan. But where?

"What are you running from?" A prisoner she recognised stopped her. "Should I be running too?"

She was panting, chest rising and she just needed to find her friends. He noticed, looking at her puzzled.

"Did a fight break out, is my girl oka-?"

"What's the latest thing that's happened in the prison?" Her voice was stern.

"Shouldn't you know this?" His laugh faded at her seriousness. "A buddy of mine told me Prince Zuko dressed as one of the guards and is now in custody."

Her eyes widened as every sound around her drowned out and she was left with her thoughts. Her crippling thoughts.

"Where is he?"

"You're not allowed to date prison-."

"Where is he?!" She grabbed his collar, throwing him to the ground with her knee to his chest.

"I don't know, we're suppose to be cleaning so maybe that way," He pointed down a hallway.

She dropped him, running where he pointed. Sets of stairs met her feet as she ran down. Guards gave her looks and she contemplated slowing down. But she couldn't.

When she reached the end of the stairs her eyes desperately wandered over each prisoner, trying to find Zuko. She didn't.

"Iskra?"

Her head whipped around as a breath of relief left. Zuko was smiling at her in prisoner clothes. She walked quickly towards them, ducking down like how they were.

"There you ar-."

She smacked Zuko and Sokka on the back of their heads. "I leave you idiots alone for what, an hour? And this is what happens?"

"Ow," Sokka rubbed his head.

"It wasn't my fault, Sokka couldn't stay away," Zuko pointed to Suki.

"Iskra, nice to meet you," She smiled.

"Suki," Suki returned the smile.  "Nice to meet you too."

"So listen, I think I have an escape plan, I checked out the coolers again. The whole point of them is the keep firebenders contained, right?" Sokka began.

"Yeah."

"So they're completely insulated and sealed to keep the cold in, well to keep the cold in, it also has to keep the heat out, right?" Sokka trailed.

"Just get to the point Sokka," Suki rolled her eyes.

"It's a perfect boat for getting through the boiling water," Sokka finished.

"The cooler as a boat, are you sure?" Zuko asked.

"I'm telling you, it'll work," Sokka nodded enthusiastically. "I walked around the perimeter. There's a blindspot between two guard towers. It's a perfect launching point. I already tested it out. We'll roll the cooler into the water and just float with the current. It'll take us straight across and as long as we don't make a sound no one will notice and bing bang boom, we're home free."

"But how are you gonna get the cooler out?" Suki asked.

"Yeah, how are you gonna get the cooler out?"
