After some well deserved rest that night everyone was refreshed with clear minds. Katara cooked up some rice; handing it around.
Iskra was on edge. She knew Zuko was here. She knew he lied to her. She knew she wishes he didn't so she wouldn't feel guilty whenever she thought of him. Because she always thought of him.
"Has anyone seen Toph?" Katara's question snapped Iskra out of her trance.
"I haven't seen her since she stormed off yesterday," Sokka shrugged.
When Iskra agreed that Zuko shouldn't teach Aang, Toph lost it and stormed off, claiming they were all blind.
"Maybe she's just exploring the air temple," Haru grabbed two bowls of rice, handing one to Iskra. "There are some pretty fun spots to practice earthbending."
"I think we should go look for her," Katara said.
"Let her have fun with her rocks, I'm in no rush to have her yelling at us again," Sokka sighed.
"We can go check for her," The Duke volunteered.
"Yeah, I want to ride that tunnel down to the hall of statues again. It'll work a lot better now that I fixed my brakes," Teo smiled.
Haru, Teo and The Duke left quickly, eager to explore again and hopefully find Toph on there way.
"What if she's in trouble?" Katara said softy.
"She is," Iskra stood up, running to a wall. "She's right here."
Just as Iskra spoke a hole in the wall revealed itself, rocks crumbling as Toph fell onto the floor.
"Toph what happened?" Katara asked quickly.
"My feet got burned," Toph laid on the floor, feet in the air from the pain.
Iskra dropped to her knees in front of Toph, resting a hand on hers in comfort. She knew Toph couldn't see anything right now so the physical contact reassured her someone was here.
"Oh no, what happened?" Katara kneeled at her feet.
"I just told you, my feet got burned," Toph said dramatically.
"I meant how," Katara said firmly.
"Well, I kind of went to see Zuko last night," She admitted.
"You what?"
"Zuko?"
"I just thought he could be helpful to us, and if I talked to him, maybe we could work something out," Toph explained as Katara healed her burns.
"So he attacked you?" Sokka gasped.
"Well, he did and he didn't," Toph shrugged. "It was sort of an accident."
"But he did firebend at you?" Aang double checks.
"Yes," Toph sighed.
"See, you trusted Zuko and you got burned, literally," Sokka rolled his eyes.
"It's gonna take a while for your feet to get better," Katara pulls the water away. "I wish I could've worked on them sooner."
"Yeah, me too," Toph said.
"Zuko is clearly too dangerous to be left alone. We're gonna have to go after him," Sokka realised.
"I hate to go looking for a fight, but you're right, after what he did to Toph, I don't think we have a choice," Aang agrees.
Aang and Sokka walk towards Toph, picking her up as they all walk towards a pond of water to talk further. Toph sighed in content as her feet submerged in the water.
