22 years later
Descending elegantly, the once glistening sunlight had softened into a deep peach color. Falling and fading, vibrant yellows danced gradually; creating a darkness that still felt bright, that still surrounded her with warmth. Rushing winds danced into tranquil breezes, the feeling of peace was among her
The Fire nation looked beautiful at this time. Effortlessly kissed by the lowering sun as clouds stroked the sky in lines.
Maybe it was her friends joining them for dinner or Azula helping Zuko cook but everything seemed to had fallen into place. War was no more, at least not any large ones and everyone was safe.
They tried to see each other at least once a month but that often turned into once a year.
Sokka is chief of the Southern water tribe, Aang is the avatar, Katara is a powerful healer, Toph is chief of police and Zuko is Firelord. They had lives now and barely saw each other.
Iskra's head leans back, eyes closed as the sun kissed her skin warmly. She'd never felt happier than where she was in her life now.
Her childhood wasn't kind to her. Responsibilities were forced upon her since a young age and she'd lost all immediate family.
But now?
Now Iskra had monthly meetings with the Earth queen. She visited earth kingdom and Fire nation villages, listening to their problems and finding solutions. Although she didn't hold the title of Firelord, the nations citizens lived comfortably under the ruling of her and Zuko.
Her bending improved greatly and mixing both element became a common practise as well as teachi-.
"Mum?"
A smile broke out instantly at Akemi's question. Her hands outstretched; hugging her daughter tightly as she laughed.
"Mum dinners ready," Akemi giggled, trying to get out of the hug.
Akemi had brown hair like her father, beautiful hazel eyes and was almost as tall as Iskra. She was at a steady rate for her firebending, learning from Iskra and she enjoyed it. Akemi is 12, the youngest of her siblings.
"Okay," Iskra kissed her head as they walked inside from the balcony.
"Iskra," Katara hugged her tightly.
"It's so good to see you," Iskra beamed.
"I know, really glad we could make it," she wiped the sweat off her head in a worried manner before laughing.
"Aunt Iskra!" Bumi, Katara and Aangs oldest chuckled as he leant down to hug her.
Kaya and Tenzin; Katara and Aangs second and third children joined the hug. It wasn't often they saw each other but with such a strong bond, it didn't really matter.
"My turn," Suyin giggled, squeezing through and hugging Iskra's legs.
The others separated, sitting around the table as just Iskra and Suyin hugged. Soon Lin and Toph joined, smiling brightly.
"I'd still love to teach you metal bending," Toph smirked once they pulled away from the hug, walking to the table.
"Like I said, I'm fine with not doing that," Iskra laughed at Tophs eye roll.
"Does Zuko remember I don't eat meat?" Aang asked sheepishly as him and Sokka stood before her.
"Of course he does, I reminded him," Iskra smiled as they hugged.
