This was Adam's moment.

His shining victory over Luci's-Lucifer's brat! Ever since the night-that-shall-not-be-named Adam had used ever favor, trick, threat or combination he could think of to avoid The Devil. He had made up some bullshit excuse to Sera about it being 'too painful' to meet with Lucifer every year about the Extermination contract after the last time. Something something 'Lucifer had taunted him about Eden' something something 'couldn't handle it anymore'. She hadn't bought it, it was common knowledge Adam had loved to sling insults at Lucifer as they shook virtual hands, but she hadn't pushed it. Not when Adam had a whole group of willing volunteers willing to sign the paperwork for him.

It didn't mean he didn't absolutely destroy himself on a custom made toy he kept locked under his bed on the anniversary it happened while memories of that night played in his head on a constant loop, but he'd be dead twice over before he ever let anyone find out about that.

But then one of his girls had gone and gotten her head taken off. That he couldn't ignore. So he made a meeting and had been surprised when instead of Lucifer, his brat walked in to start blabbing about 'redemption' and rainbows.

Gag.

That had been six months ago and now it was his crowning moment. But even so... He did feel a pang of guilt over what he was about to do. He had been pissed when Charlie had walked in instead of her dad (even if it was Adam's own fault the Devil had avoided the meeting, certain it would just be another minion of Heaven), so he had gone out of his way to be rude to her. When she started talking about sending demons his way? Oh hell no. That shit don't fly, girlie.

So here he was, in a battle of Heaven vs Hell, holding his lover enemies kid by the throat as he held her aloft with a sadistic grin projected on his mask. But despite his demonic grin, he felt remorse.

Maybe he could just choke her out. Maybe he'd give her an out. Yeah, put on a big show for Lute and the other girls of making Charlie surrender or watch her friends die. They would still probably have to die, but at least then he could let her go. Did he care about her? Hell no! The girlie was waaaay out of her depth. But he didn't want to kill her. First of all she looked like her dad mom and that made Adam's heart throb in a way he didn't appreciate. But also because killing her would make Luci-Lucifer hate him.

So... Showtime.

He lifted her a little higher and curled back his fist in a show of force. He let out a sadistic laugh as she struggled. Oh yeah, play it up for the folks watching at home. Put on a show so no one notices he's barely squeezing her throat and not using an angelic weapon like he's supposed to. That all she had to to was kick him and she'd be free. But Charlie was a lover, not a fighter, even if she had stabbed him with that nasty pitchfork of hers.

"Let... Me... GO!"

'Shit. She really is Lucifer's and Lilith's kid. She doesn't know when to throw in the towel. Props where it was due, I guess.'

Instead of letting her go, he just stared at her with what he hoped was a malicious, maybe even unhinged, grin.

"This fight was cute and all, but it's time to die with the rest of them!"

Why the fuck did his mask glitch? Weird. It only did that when portals opened up. Eh must have been a malfunction when that jazz pussy had thrown him into the sign. Adam chose to ignore it and the growing feeling of remorse as Charlie's face twisted with despair as his girls moved in on her friends. From somewhere to his right he heard Vaggisaurus yell out for his little girlfriend. That made him wince inside.

Okay, time to wrap this up. Maybe he could keep Lute from killing Vaggie? Yeah, just the loser sinners would have to die. Yeah! They could just knock the bitches out, he could pretend to yeet them into some hole, and then they could go paint the streets of Hell red (literally). This could totally work! Just play it cool and-
