Lucifer was the only one capable of making Alastor swear. That was one of his many superpowers.

Lucifer could simply appear in the same space as Alastor for his smile to turn from happy to feigned. Alastor had many enemies, but he had never felt such uncontrollable anger towards any of them just for their mere existence.

From the very first minutes in the hotel Lucifer began to argue with him. He had no complaints against Husk or Angel, but he loved to bicker with Alastor so much as if it was vital to him. Not without a reason, of course, as Alastor was the one who started it all. He was just having fun, pissing off the King of Hell, making fun of his family issues. After the extermination these jokes lost their relevance, but Lucifer's irritation stayed.

He acted arrogant when talking to Alastor, and it became a real pain in his ass. The security of the hotel fell on their shoulders, and they had to work together. But instead of working together, they constantly tried to mock each other as painfully as possible. Al hadn't yet gone on air, but Lucifer, on the contrary, had found a lot of work, and was now egging the demon on with jokes about his uselessness. Asshole.

Alastor didn't know what to do when he appeared next to the King. His smile was sewn to his face, and his upbringing would not have allowed him to spit in the King's snow-white face (though even that failed when it came to Lucifer). The jokes were over. Luci prevented Alastor from concentrating on his future plans. Overlord spent more time brooding over his hatred of Lucifer than doing anything useful.

The issue of division of power had to be resolved, otherwise the safety of the hotel was at risk. Alastor was determined: he would come to Lucifer's tower and tell him everything he thought about his tiny fucking Highness .

It was a late evening, when all the team building activities were over. Charlie and Vaggie disappeared into their room, Angel and Husk were more interested in each other than in him, and Niffty was obsessively dusting the rooms.

The path to Lucifer was open.

Alastor walked up the small spiral staircase and politely knocked on the door with the gold lettering on it.

"Come in!" Lucifer exclaimed. As soon as he saw the radio demon in the doorway, his face showed incredible disappointment. "Oh, it's you ."

"You're interfering with my work!" Alastor began right off the bat. His red eyes narrowed. He left his microphone at the door and put hands behind his back in an "I come in peace" gesture. "I would like you to stop interfering with my responsibility for my part of the security, if you will. Instead of doing your part, you prefer to look for mistakes in mine."

Lucifer, who was sitting at a large wooden table, looked up at Alastor, surprised. Luci couldn't lie, his emotions were always written on his face. Being a powerful creature, he had no need to hide, just so as not to be hit with something heavy. This confused Alastor. Did Lucifer really have no bad intentions?

"What are you talking about? I'm simply pointing out flaws in your work. The important ones, Alastor. Last week you forgot to refresh the protective charms around the perimeter, and this would've threatened us with huge losses in the next sudden extermination."

"If you were a little more tactful, your comments about my work wouldn't distract me so much."

"If you had emotional intelligence higher than a brick has, you would understand that my comments are a dry analysis of your work and nothing more. Take it easy, deer."

Lucifer walked around the table and leaned his hips into it. Small, short, but there was so much power in his posture. He stood with his chest thrust forward, confident as fuck even in front of his enemy. When he's not wearing that ridiculous top hat, he even gives off the air of someone serious. Alastor took a step closer.
