She had cried the whole drive back after what had just happened to her. She was sore and her clothes were completely ripped and in pieces she knew she couldn't go back home looking like this and she couldn't stand the pain she felt not just physically but mentally. She never would have thought that this would happen to her especially when all she had done was be honest with a guy she thought actually loved her. But what he did to her wasn't love she knew that but how would she get people to believe her when he put on the perfect act of innocent soccer player at the high school who had a full ride scholarship to Columbia University.
As she kept driving she only thought of one person who would believe her and never leave her during this time. So she made a sharp left turn on the next street and headed towards the house.
It wasn't odd for her to show up at her best friend's house at 10 at night on a school night. In all honesty her friend's parents loved her around the house, so when she pulled into the drive way of the house she ran out of her car with a spear hoodie she had and went straight to the door. She knew that she was home because before the incident occurred she called her friend earlier and was told that she would be home all night.
As the door opened she was hoping it would be her friend to open the front door but was not as lucky when she saw her friend's mother
"Lauren Mija. Are you okay?" She hears her friend's mom ask her in a worried toned
"Um yeah. Is Camila home" She asks in a shaky voice trying not to break down crying
"Didn't she tell you Lauren? she's out on a date with your brother" Sinu answers in a curious tone
"Oh-um I-I must have forgotten I thought she was asleep since she wasn't answering her phone" Lauren replies still trying to hold in her tears
"That's weird I just talked to her an 15 minutes ago. You know what let me call her again come inside it's a bit cold out tonight " Sinu says opening the door a little wider
"NO! Um I mean it's okay I guess I'll talk to her tomorrow then it's nothing important" Lauren responds but as Camila's mom looks at Lauren's appearance she can tell that this isn't just nothing.
"Lauren are you sure everything is okay?" Sinu questions one more time
"Ye-Yeah I'm fine um I guess I'll go now" Lauren stutters
"Camila should be home soon why don't you just wait for her. If you want you can wait in her room" Sinu suggest
"If she'll be home soon I can wait for her in my car I don't want to wake up Sofi if she's sleeping" Lauren replies using her knowledge of her best friend's baby sister having an early bedtime
"Are you sure I don't mind keeping you company" Her mom says worried
"it's al-alright I'll just wait out here for her" Lauren responds and sits on the porch bench to wait for her friend.
As soon as her friends mother saw her sit down she knew that something wasn't right so she went inside the house and made a call.

All of a sudden she jolts up from where she was lying down and looks at her surrounding in a worried state. It was only a horrible memory but even though it happened over a year ago it still stung like it was just yesterday.
They say that going through a traumatizing event always leaves you with it's scars even if you try your best to move on from it and for her at this moment it is being proven that even though she has made progress in trying to get back to being herself the scars will still be there and will never leave.
