Setting a new normal

It was extremely nerve wrecking having to wait for her cousin to arrive with what is now the new and permanent addition to the family. This wasn't like getting a new puppy that after a certain time it can handle itself on it's own, no this was another breathing human being. She was on edge but not in a bad way. She knew that she had to be available at every second of every single day from now on. What she was nerves about though was how her girlfriend was going to deal with this because until now it had only been just the two of them but now there was a little being who will need her attention even more. Aside from being worried about how her girlfriend would handle all of this she was also worried about how her girlfriend's parents would react to this. Especially her Girlfriend's mother who from the start wasn't very happy with the relationship to begin with.

"Laur breathe baby" the girl next to her says while rubbing the older girls back in small circles.

"I'm just really nerves" The green eyes girl says while taking deep breaths

"you have nothing to be nerves about though remember that you aren't alone in this. you have your parents your siblings and you have me okay. Don't forget that I'm moving in with you at the end of the month" The younger Latina says with a smile

"I know it's just that I don't know it sounds stupid in my head but you're right every thing is going to be okay" Lauren says while looking into her girlfriend's eyes 

"No what were you going to say Lo come on" Camila asks knowing that the older girl was thinking too much about the situation

"Well um I was just wondering do your parents know about Karla?" Lauren asks in return

"um well I kind of haven't told them yet I mean it's not my place to tell them hey mom dad just so you know Lauren has a daughter" Camila responds with an uneasy smile

"That's what I thought" Lauren says dryly

"Is that what is bothering you? that my parents don't know that you have a little daughter ?" Camila questions

"It's not that Camila" Lauren answers

"Then what is that is bothering you?" The younger girl asks again

"Do you honestly think that your parents would be okay with you dating someone with a kid or better yet someone who has already put your life in danger more once? I mean we've been back for 3 days Camila and not once have you even gone to your house you've been here and I'm happy that you are to help me through this but you haven't even called them once." Lauren says trying to stay calm

"So what are you saying? that my parents are going to be so against us more then before because of this and that I can't make my own choices?" The younger girl argues

"I'm not saying that Camz please don't put words in y mouth that I did not say. what I'm saying is that even though I know that you will be here to help me out we both know that when your parents find out about Karla they will not be as accepting about us being together. Your mom already doesn't like me much after the whole Paul thing and doesn't trust you going to my parents house because of what Chris did. You dad is on edge with me too and is only tolerating me because he knows you love me and because I would do what ever it takes to keep you safe but other then that you know that he isn't very happy with our relationship. I mean they were both okay with us being best friends but more then that they really haven't come around to it. I'm not saying that you can't make your own choices I'm just saying that I'm scared shitless that when they do find our or when we do end up telling them about her, they will hate me even more" the older girl lets out making Camila pull her forward and into a tight hug
