The Truth Hurts (Camren)

It had gotten silent after her last comment and all I could about was that I had some how done something wrong.

"She doesn't like sleeping in the dark" was the only thing I heard her say after a long silence

"huh?" i ask her confused

"Karla, she doesn't like sleeping in the dark she's terrified of it" she tells me and I look around the room again and find two little night lights on each end of the room

"She begged me for two. she made a very convincing argument that 1 night light would not keep the monsters away and that she needed two because like that she could still see her room" Lauren tells me and I smile a little

"So she's knows how to get what she wants then" I state rather then ask

"Yeah basically and she has both our dads wrapped around her little fingers. Karla says that she wants to go the park or the movies and both of them will start arguing about who gets to be the one to take her. My mom literally sent me a video of the both of them playing rock paper scissors just to see who will win" she says to me between laughs which only causes me to laugh because I could already picture my dad doing that just to spend time with Karla

"Your mom also sees her once in a while"Lauren says looking at me a bit worried

"I bet those visits are a bit intense" I mumble out

"She's actually really good with her believe it or not she's the one who brought up the whole scared of the dark thing." Lauren replies

"Yeah well her doing one good thing for Karla doesn't make me forgive her for what she caused" I answer

"do you want to see some picture of Karla while she was growing up? I have 2 full albums thanks to your sister constantly taking pictures of her" Lauren asks and I nod

"so Sofi told me that she watches Karla sometimes when your parents can't" I say as I stay seated on my daughter's bed while Lauren gets the albums out from a drawer

"Yeah I mean I know Sofi is only 14 right now but when she's watching Karla all she does is make sure Karla gets ready for bed and doesn't get into trouble. plus most of the food Sofi gives Karla is food I've already made and just has to be heated in the microwave" Lauren explains

"Yeah that sounds reasonable I mean I would rather have my 14 year old sister watch her then some body I don't know at all" I state

"Your dad told me the same thing when I was first looking for someone to watch little K when I had late nights in the studio on the weekends. On top of that Ricardo checks in on then every once in a while too when I'm there past midnight" Lauren adds

"Well I'm glad to know that our little girl is being so well taken care of even though I had no doubt that you would  look after her and make sure she was safe" I say giving Lauren a small smile

"Yeah well it's hard not to when she acts a lot like you" Lauren responds sitting down next to me again and opening the photo album

"Wait so you are telling me our daughter at 3 while in day care took paint and spilled it on herself then threw it on her teacher just because you went to get something from your car?" I ask her while looking at a picture of a 3 year old Karla covered in purple paint outside of Lauren's Jeep

"Yeah and her reason when I asked her why she did it was I thought you were leaving mommy and I don't want you to leave me not like my other mommy" Lauren says looking back at the photo

"You know I didn't want to leave. You know the real reason why I left Lauren and you know that I would have never left you or Karla had my mother not threaten to take her away from you if I didn't leave. If I hadn't left she wouldn't have had you or me and I chose to leave because I rather she have you then none of us." I says making Lauren look at me again

"Yeah but that doesn't mean you won't leave again remember you have a life in New York now. Anything happening here in Miami isn't part of your life anymore" Lauren says

"That's where you wrong I might have an amazing job and a career in New York but New York doesn't have the most important things in my life" I says

"Camila I already told you" Lauren starts but I cut her off

"You can say you love Alex all you want but we both know that what we have goes beyond what you have with him. On top of that we have Karla and I'm not going to leave her again" I say firmly

"When did you become this determined Usually I'm the stubborn one not you" Lauren asks

"Living through hell changes a person but it never changed how I feel about you or how much I miss my  daughter" I say taking Her hand in mine

"Camila" Lauren Warns and I know what she is going to say but I can't give up

"please just answer me how sure are you about this Alex guy? I mean you haven't even been with him for a full year and you are already marrying him. Please just think about it before you start making plans for a wedding" I ask

"Why are you so hell bent on me making sure I am making the right choice about him? huh Camila because remember you left me I never left you. If you had stayed and called your mother's bluff we could already be married but you left and I had to move on so just tell me why you don't want me getting my happy ending for once" she responds standing up in a frustrated state

" Because he's not who he says he is Lauren" I state looking up at her

"What are you talking about he's a business man and owns a huge car company" Lauren says

"That's not all he does Lauren. Trust me I work for the tabloids I see the good and the bad from high profile people and Alex has more skeletons in his closet then you can imagine and I don't want him to ruin you or our daughter" I reply getting up as well

"You're lying" She says

"I can get you proof if you want" I say pulling out my phone and sending a quick text to Lidia so she can get the file I need

A/N: so short chapter sorry about the wait guys works been crazy lately with new work schedules and all that stuff I should be getting back to posting more on this story soon though so till then I hope this chapter is one you will like
