"Here we are." Rowan smiles, stepping out of the plane. "Damn. Somerville stinks." Violet scrunches up her nose, sniffing the air.

"That's me, sorry." Rowan smiles and Violet looks at him fake disgusted, "ew, Row!" She laughs and Rowan laughs too.

"Our address is- 123 Elm Street, Somerville, MA 02143." Rowan reads from his phone.

(some random address idk who lives there)

"How are we gonna get there?" Violet asks. "I'll call us an Uber." Rowan says, pulling out his phone.

--

"I claim biggest bedroom!" Rowan exclaims, beating Violet to it. "Shit." She laughs.

"This is pretty nice." Violet confesses, looking around the living room of her new house.

"Yeah. I could get used to this." Rowan smiles, joining his sisters side. "You can go unpack, I'll fix the basics down here."

"Okay." Violet smiles before grabbing her stuff and bringing them up stairs. She enters her room, almost bursting out into tears when she sees there's no lock on the door.

She leaves her still packed stuff and heads back downstairs. "I'm gonna explore a little. I'll be back in 30." Violet announces and Rowan nods, exhaling the smoke from his new rolled joint.

Violet rolls her eyes before leaving the house and heads to the first Target she finds.

--

Violet struggles to click the lock in the right place but eventually succeeds.

Better safe than sorry.

"Yes." She whispers quietly, locking her door. It's 11:16pm and Rowan's already passed out wasted on the couch.

Violet grabs her pack of cigarettes and gets seated on her window seat. The only thing she actually likes is that she has a little window seat and her window is big enough to climb through; in case she needs to sneak in or out sometime.

Since she hasn't found a new smoking place yet, her window seat will be good enough for now.

She takes one cigarette out for her packet and lights it. Her window is open, so the smoke goes outside.

--

Violet flicks her stubbed cigarette out of her window before getting in bed. It's been a long day, and she's tired.

--

september 1st:

Violet presses the snooze button on her phone as her alarm goes off. Today's the first day of school and she's not looking forward to it.

"fuck." she sighs deeply.

She hates all the chances that are open. Her classmates could hate her, love her, despise her, ignore her, like her, etc.

The thing she HOPES is that they like her. She's gone her whole life with people around her making fun of her.

For multiple reasons.
