After about half an hour, Chris stopped crying, and now they're all sitting on the couch in the living room.
Well...everyone except Matt...
"Is he still in his room?" Nick questions, to which everyone nods.
"Who do you think he wants to see the most?" Elmer asks.
"Violet..." Alahna mutters, voice barely above a whisper.
They've all stopped crying, but they're still sad, and if they have to talk about her, they'll cry again.
"No, but like...to comfort him.." Elmer says and everyone thinks.
"I honestly think Alahna. Because remember when Violet got into the hospital and fell into a coma after that 'party' she had a panic attack in? Alahna got his focus off of that and he was okay again..." Chris says and everyone nods.
"But I don't think it'll be that easy now.." he adds, and everyone nods in agreement again.
"Let's go up, Lan. I'll come with you. I know my brother like the back of my hand." Nick says and Alahna says, also standing up.
Nick and Alahna head up, as the rest just chats about other stuff to also get their focus off of Violet.
--
Alahna and Nick are very cautious and careful as they softly knock on Matt's bedroom door.
Not hearing any answer, they knock again.
When he still doesn't answer, they just go in. They peek around the door to see his bedroom closed, but his bathroom door slightly open.
"He's in the bathroom." Nick whispers to Alahna as they go in his room and close the door behind them.
Alahna nods and puts her finger out to Nick to silently tell him to let her go first, and Alahna carefully pushes open the bathroom door.
"Hey, Matty..." Alahna sighs. She expected this. She knows Matt all too well.
He was in the bathtub but the water was out, he didn't clean up his wrist but he put on a sweater so they didn't see.
He was basically filling up a bath with his own tears, as the suicide note from Violet was gripped in his hand so it was crumbled and ripped but still kind of readable.
"What's that in your hand, Matt?" Alahna asks.
Matt was partly reacting the same way as Chris. Zoning out. But also totally different.
Chris was zoned out on the wall, he was zoned out pure out of fear, devastation and frustration.
But Matt...
Matt was zoned out on the note, his eyes scanning the text over and over again. He was zoned out because of depression, sadness, heartbrokenness.
Matt's eyes snap up and he looks at Alahna in fear. Fear for no reason. He's just scared.
"Nothing." He mumbles, his voice low and broken, as he stuffs the crumbled paper in his pocket.
"Nick come in!" Alahna calls out and Nick is almost immediately behind her.
"Hey, buddy." Nick tries to smile, but Matt could read right through it.
Matt didn't answer.
He just stared.
There was no colour in his eyes. His lips were dry as fuck. His eyes were colourless. He was motionless.
(my guy need some of that space camp originals pack or pool club lip balm bro)
The two best friends' hearts couldn't help but shatter.
The way Matt is sitting there...it's like he's there physically but not mentally...
"Matty, sweetheart...do you want us to leave you alone or are you coming down with us? Elmer's here and so is Rosalia..." Nick attempts but Matt doesn't react.
"Give us some time." Nick whispers to Alahna and she nods, understanding what he meant, before exiting the bathroom.
Nick closes the bathroom door and approaches Matt carefully, gently grabbing his hands and turning his face to make eye contact with him.
"You'll be alright, Matty. I know you will. It'll be hard for a while, but you'll get over it, I promise. It's a new wound and it just needs some time to heal, okay?" Nick tries but Matt just tears up.
"She wrote a fucking suicide note, Nick." He says after a while of silence.
Nick frowns, "what do you mean?"
Since Matt really didn't want to talk, he just handed Nick the tear stained, ripped, crumbled up note he found on the cabinet.
Nick took the note from his brothers' hand and starts reading.
It was difficult since it was soaking wet from Matt's tears, but he could still read it.
--
"She was planning on killing herself in February, Chris!" Nick shouts rather loudly, the tears prickling in his eyes.
"I heard you the first fucking time, dude!" Chris shouts back aggressively, pushing Nick softly but harsh enough to make him stumble backwards.
"Don't fucking touch me!" Nick shouts again, pushing Chris but harder than he pushed him.
"Enough! This is tearing us apart. Enough." Rosalia interrupts, standing between both Nick and Chris and glancing at both of them.
"We all need to calm the fuck down. We're all frustrated." She says and Nick sighs heavily.
Everyone gets seated on the couch and just deicide to silently watch a show.
Matt was still in his room...
He was kind of stalking all of Violets posts, and looking in his photos at all of their pictures together.
He was already doing bad. Violet was the only light in his life. Now he's doing horrible. His light died and his life returned to...useless.
