Violet angrily slams the front door shut. She knows Matt's home, but he's the only one home, and he's the only one she wants to see and cry to right now.
She throws her bag on the floor and sniffles while running up the stairs, tripping multiple times but not caring.
Not caring.
She totally forgot about not caring. Why does she care about suspension, then? Why does she care about Matt? And Nick? And Chris?
She groans to herself in disappointment, before swinging Matt's bedroom door open without knocking.
Matt's eyes dart up from his phone to the girl standing in his door frame, before standing up quickly and walking over to her.
The worry in Matt's face make her knees give out, making her drop to the ground along with Matt.
"No no, not on the dirty floor. C'mere." Matt pulls her up and closes his door before helping Violet get on his bed.
"Breath, breath." Matt holds her hands subconsciously, attempting to calm her down.
Violet shakes her head, this isn't what she wanted when she entered his room.
She wanted him to pull her close to him, allowing her to cry in his chest. She wanted him to tell her 'it's gonna be okay' while stroking her hair, knowing it isn't.
But considering they're the same person, Matt can tell she wants that.
Matt quickly moves closer to Violet and wraps his arms around her. She continues sobbing in his chest while he strokes her hair.
"You're good, you're gonna be okay, baby." Matt comforts her softly. "I promise." He whispers softly.
Violet squeezes her eyes shut in pain. She fucking hates herself. She hates everything in her life. She wants to fucking die.
--
Matt gets snapped out of his thoughts when Violet starts stirring around.
She still hasn't told him what's wrong because she fell asleep while crying in his arms.
Matt just let her sleep, holding onto her gently and letting her rest her head on his chest.
Violet raises her head from Matt's chest and looks up at him with tired, half lidded eyes and a broken forced smile.
"Don't force it." Matt demands softly and Violets fake smile drops. "I got expelled." She says suddenly.
"Huh?" Matt asks, confused what she said since it was slurred to each other.
"I fought Rachel. She said some fucked up shit about you and I. I punched her and things got out of hand. The principal said he never wanted me along the school floor again." She says, now more clear but still tired.
"That's fucked up. She deserved that. Whatever she said couldn't be right that you had to fight her for it." Matt acknowledges and Violet nods, placing her head on Matt's chest again.
