Violet woke up by a movement. She looks on her phone and it was 5pm. Damn she slept long.
She looks down to see Matt still sound asleep in her arms, and then, everything hit her.
She remembered what happened in the morning, and her expression immediately softened as her fingers softly run through Matt's soft hair.
It's Sunday, meaning they have to go to school tomorrow, but she really doesn't want too.
She doesn't want to wake Matt, she really doesn't, but she has to pee, like really bad.
She carefully leans upwards a bit and grabs a free pillow. She swiftly moves away from Matt and replaces her shoulder with the pillow.
Matt stirs a little but then quickly drifts back off to sleep. Thank god.
Violet silently gets up from the bed and heads to the bathroom. She does her thing and when she's washing her hands, she can't help but feel it.
Guilt.
Pure guilt.
Violet has always been a girl of insecurity. But her biggest insecurity, was her thinking that everything bad that happened in other peoples' lives, was her fault.
Her parents' overdose; her fault.
Rowan's arrest; her fault.
Matt's breakdowns; her fault.
Her fault, her fault, her fault.
But it's not true.
She just doesn't know that.
Tears subconsciously fill Violets eyes, but she refuses to let them out and to wake Matt, so she decides to get her mind off of things.
She quickly but silently walks out of Matt's bathroom and grabs a piece of paper and a pen, before writing on it,
I'm taking a shower
Stay out of the bathroom please and thank you
If you needa piss, go to the other ones
-xoxo Viola
She sticks the note on the bathroom door with tape before going in it and locking the door either way.
She gets undressed and steps in the shower.
But her way of distraction is pain...
--
Violet gets tear stained out of the shower, her body already burning red and her wrist continuing to spill blood.
"Why, why, why?" She cries out, rather silently, as she looks at her naked reflection in the mirror.
More tears drop as she puts a towel over the mirror, and she starts drying herself.
After she was dried, she quickly put on shorts — because that's the only thing she had in the bathroom — and a cropped shirt that had short sleeves.
