Bruce was tired, his body was yelling at him to slow down. He was exhausted, he had been at this for hours. But he wouldn't stop, he couldn't. He and the team were currently fighting off an alien species that had recently landed on Earth a few hours in a desert not too far from Gotham.
He was currently battling one of the purple-blue slimy creatures that came off the ship, it had one big eye and a horn poking out the middle of its forehead. In all honesty, it reminded Bruce of a purple people eater, the ship that had dropped these things off had long disappeared back to wherever it came from.
Bruce punched the thing in the throat and ripped it out. Immediately, he looked around, ready to fight, but there was none. The team was standing around tired and covered in goop from the aliens. Sighing, Bruce's shoulders slumped, and he took a deep breath.
He walked over to where the others, Green Lantern, Manhunter, Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, and Wonder Woman, were gathered. In a team filled with aliens, metahumans, and a Goddess princess, it was a little hard to keep up. So while Bruce was panting trying to catch his breath, the rest of the team was barely sweating.
"We have to get back to the look and plan. They are sure to send more ships; we need to be ready," Diana said, and the rest of the team broke off: those who couldn't fly heading to the ship and those who could simply fly away.
Bruce walked over to the Batjet and quickly climbed in, he started up the jet and took off towards the lookout. Once there he landed his jet and headed to his room, where he quickly pulled off his suit and examined himself.
Discovering nothing broken, he quickly took a shower, stepped out, and looked into the mirror. He saw the bags under his eyes and sighed. Walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist and picked up his goo-covered suit. Using a test tube he carried around he collected a sample and went over to the blank wall, pushing a button the wall opened revealing a small lab. Bruce put the goo on a scanner, left it there, and picked up a tablet; before the ship had left, he had attached a device to it so it would steal their information and send it back to him. Reading over the information Bruce was sure from both the goo and the information he got, he could find a way to defeat them.

A small blue light flashed in the room letting him know it was time for the meeting that Wonder Woman spoke of earlier. Bruce dressed in a clean suit and headed to the meeting room. There he found the team already showered and clean seating around the table. Talking about something, but the conversation suspiciously paused when he walked in. Brushing it aside he sat in his regular seat as they started to plan for more aliens coming,
Bruce was confused throughout the planning. He didn't see where he fit in the plan; all the others had their part, but he didn't.
"Where's my part in this?" He asked, cutting off Wonder Woman as she spoke about the second plan of attack. She paused in her speech and looked at him before quickly looking away.
She looked at Superman, and he nodded before turning to Bruce. Before he could say anything, though, an alarm went off, and the team got up and rushed to the door. Superman landed in front of Bruce before he could go through the door.
"What are you doing, Clark?" Bruce asked, the alien.
"We need to talk," Clark replied, looking over his shoulder at the door.
"Can we talk later?" Bruce said, trying to get around him but was stopped.
"No, look. The team thinks it would be best if you stayed behind for this mission," Clark said, making him pause.
"What?" Bruce asked, shocked.
"Well, we were talking, and Martian mentioned that you took longer to take down the aliens and that you would hold us back..." Clark stated, looking everywhere but at Bruce.
"Hold you back? How would I hold you back?" Bruce asked, slightly mad.
"Well, you're human and weak; you're slower..." Clark started but cut himself off when he saw Bruce's face.
"Bruce, I didn't..." he started again but paused when Bruce held up a hand to stop him.
"It's fine, Clark. I get it; a human on the team just doesn't fit. Good luck on your mission," he said before leaving the room. He made his way to where he had left his jet and got in, leaving the Tower.
