Clark jumped at the sound of his phone ringing. Digging it out of the pocket of his suit, he answered.
"Hello," He answered, putting the phone up to his ear.
"Master Clark," He hears Alfred say through the phone.
"Alfred, how are you?" Clark asked, with a smile.
"I am fine, Clark; I am calling because Master Bruce and Hal have broken up; Master Bruce seems to be taking it extremely hard," Alfred informed him, and Clark's smile immediately fell.
He pulled the phone away from his ear and checked the time, seeing it was almost eight pm. "I'll see you soon Alfred," He said before hanging up.
"Bruce, I told you not to date that asshole," He said before speeding off in the direction of Wayne Manor. When he got there a few minutes later Alfred was already waiting for him outside.
"Good to see you, Master Clark," The older man said as he opened the door for Clark.
"You too, Alfred," he said, entering the house and following the man down the hall." What happened?" he asked, pointing at the still broken glass on the floor.
"Master Bruce threw his glass at Hall for mentioning his scars," Alfred told him.
"Damn it," Clark cursed, he really wanted to find that asshole. "I'll go take care of Bruce," He said before flying up the stairs. He didn't bother knocking before entering the bedroom, he already knew Bruce was going to tell him to leave.
When he entered the room he saw Bruce standing in front of a full-length mirror he had on his closet door. "Bruce," He called, walking up to him. The other man didn't reply at first, but Clark knew he heard him from the way his eyes flashed to Clark before going back to the mirror.
"He's right isn't he?" Bruce asked, his hands coming up to touch one of his chests.
"No, no he's not," Clark said, walking over to him and resting his hands on his shoulders. "He is an asshole is what he is."
Bruce turned around and went to his bed, sitting at the edge of it. He ran a hand over his face and looked up at Clark. "What are you doing here anyway?" he asked.
"My superhero instinct kicked in and told me you need me," Clark said, and Bruce smiled.
"Alfred called?"
"Alfred called."
"Well you didn't have to come, I'll be fine," Bruce said, though Clark could sense the lie.
"Yes, I did. You don't have to pretend you're not hurt by what he said, you know, I know you're hurting," Clark said, sitting beside him on the bed beside him and wrapping his hand around his shoulders.
"It does hurt, but it's true. Maybe I can cover them up," Bruce said looking in the mirror.
"No," Clark said, taking Bruce's chin in his hand and turning his face towards him. "Don't cover them up. I love the way they look on you. It shows how brave you are."
Bruce sighed, "You're blinded by your love for me, Clark," He said.
"And you're denying it," Clark said, making Bruce blush.
"I don't want to ruin our friendship," Bruce told him. "Plus, you deserve someone who isn't damaged."
"You won't ruin anything, and you are damaged either and I'll prove it," Clark said, making Bruce look up at him.
"How?" Bruce asked, confused.
"One night, that's all I need. Tomorrow night," Clark said, his hand coming up to rub Bruce's cheek.
"Fine," He agreed, and Clark smiled at him.
"Great, I'll pick you up at 5:30. I'll pick out your clothes, so you don't have to worry about what to wear," Clark exclaimed standing from his spot.
"I have to go start planning, I'll see you tomorrow," Clark said, kissing Bruce's cheek as he always did when they parted ways.
"Bye, Clark," Bruce called after him as he exited the room.
