Clark drove to their destination, nervous. He hoped Bruce liked where he was taking him. They rounded the corner and immediately spotted the building. It was decorated with lights. It had a Christmas scene out in front with baby Jesus and his parents. Clark pulled into the parking lot and turned off the car.
Stepping out of the car he waited for Bruce to exit before taking his hand and walking towards the building.
"I didn't know churches were open at night," Bruce said as they entered and collected their programs.
"They don't, but they do a special service on Christmas night. My mom and I went every Christmas, from when they found me. I loved it. It was special to me and still is. I thought maybe I could share that special feeling I got from it with someone else," Clark explained as he led them to a seat, close to the back.
The service was wonderful, and Bruce never took his eyes off the front, though Clark enjoyed the show, he enjoyed watching Bruce's reaction to everything they did more. The way his eyes light up when the kids are putting on the play. Or how he smiled when they sang songs he knew.

When they got back home, it was almost two a.m. Clark said a quick good night to Bruce before rushing up to his room and taking a quick shower before going to bed.
In the morning, Bruce was awakened by someone jumping on his bed and bouncing him into the air. "Bruce, wake up; it's Christmas," he heard a voice say, but he decided to ignore it and pulled the pillow over his head.
"Bruuuuuuuce waaaake up," The voice said, making him groan and turn over to come face to face with a smiling Clark leaning over him. He sighed and sat up, forcing Clark to sit down on his legs.
"Fine, I'm up," Bruce said, with a yawn.
Clark jumped off the bed and started to pull Bruce towards the door. "Wait, I have to get dressed first," Bruce said, making Clark pause and look down to see the other man in only a pair of black boxers. Blushing, Clark let go of Bruce, before nodding and quickly exiting the room.
Bruce pulled on some pajama pants and a t-shirt before going under the closet and pulling out Clark's gifts from the closet. He pulled out the two boxes and made his way downstairs, where he found Clark sitting by the tree waiting for him. He sat in front of him and handed him the gift.
"Here you go. It was a little hard to find after we got the tree, but I made a few calls," he said, smiling.
Clark took the box and opened the first one. He pulled out a small collar and a leash. Raising a brow at Clark he read the name on the tag "Chip?" He asked.
He moved the open box off his lap, opened the other, and gasped. Inside was a small white fluffy puppy curled around a toy, sleeping.
Clark scooped him up and held him up to his face. "Oh. Bruce, he's beautiful," he whispered, as the puppy opened his eyes and started to wiggle.
"I got him after we got back from the tree lot and kept him in my closet, fed him, gave him water, and made him run around my room while you were busy so you would hear him," Bruce explained. " His name is also in honor of your chipmunk friend at the tree lot," Bruce said, and Clark smiled and placed Chip back in the box.

He reached for a present that Bruce hadn't noticed and handed it to him. "It's hard to find a gift for a millionaire you know. You seem like you have everything you need, but around this time of year, I remember that you don't," Clark said.
Bruce gently peeled back the wrapper to reveal a photo album. He looked up at Clark, who motioned for him to open it. When he did, he smiled, and it had pictures—all the pictures he and Clark had taken since he had come to the manor and before that.
"I noticed you didn't have many good memories of Christmas or any holiday because you were holding yourself back. So I thought it would be a good idea to give you some. Look at the inside of the first cover," Clark said.
Bruce did as instructed and found a list taped to it but not just any list, the list Clark had been checking things off of.
'Clark's Christmas list for Batman
1) make him agree to spend Christmas
2) Take Bruce ice skating
3) help Bruce decorate the house for Christmas
4) get and decorate a tree
5) make Bruce smile
6) make sure Bruce has the best Christmas ever this year,'
"Thank you, Clark, really. You showed me a lot this Christmas, how to have fun, how to be happy, how to do a lot of things. You've been my only friend for years even though I don't act like it. Sure, there was the team, but they never cared enough to ask. When you came in here, my home immediately brightened, and I started to feel something. Took me a while to realize it was love. I love you, Clark," He said, looking up at Clark who had tears in his eyes.
"Really?" Clark whispered, he had picked up Chip again and was holding him close to his chest.
Bruce nodded. "Yes, I do. And I was kind of hoping you'd stay here and help me make more happy memories to put in this album," he said.
"I love you too, Bruce. And I would love to."
