Clark could have kicked himself. He had defended Bruce earlier when the others had called him a simple human but then he turned around and called him the same thing to his face. What kind of friend does that, especially to a friend you're in love with?
He and Bruce had many talks about how he felt being the only human on the team, how Bruce felt like he had to do more to measure up and be seen as an equal to others, and here he went and called him a human.
He felt like an idiot as he watched Bruce leave the room and then saw his jet leave the tower a few minutes later. Je wanted to follow, but the flashing red light reminded him that he had an alien emergency to take care of.
Zooming out of the room, out of the tower, and down to the site where the new alien ship had landed, Aquaman started to fight immediately. This time, there were more aliens than before. The ship looked like it was just getting ready to leave when Aquaman called out to him.
"Superman, don't let that ship leave Earth," he called, motioning to the ship that was now speeding away. Nodding, Clark sped towards the ship, catching up to it in no time. Positioning himself in front of the ship, he used his laser eyes and shot it through the engine, making it fall to the ground. Ignoring the fallen ship for now, Clark quickly went back to the battlefield to help the team.
When the fight was over, they collected what they could from the ship and took it back to the lookout. Clark, sitting in his chair, lost in thought of his friend as the others talked about the computers and supplies they had gotten from the ship.
"I don't understand what any of this is," Flash said, dropping one of the devices on the table. The device fired off a laser that bounced around the room before burning a hole in the wall.

"Where is Batman, he would understand this?" Aquaman said, looking at Superman.
"He left," Clark told him, glaring at the team.
"Left? Why would he leave?" Green Lantern asked.
"Why do you think he left?" Clark snapped standing out of his seat and slamming his hands on the table.
"Woah, no need to get mad," Flash said, backing away slightly.
"I have every right to be made; you guys made me tell Bruce he had to stay behind; you guys were too weak and cowardly to tell him yourself, so you put the pressure on me. The only one who wanted him here, and now he probably hates me. I thought this was a team, and correct me if I'm wrong but a team does push one of its members out because they feel that they are holding back the team, they work together to help them improve. That's a team, something you guys aren't," Clark said, his gaze piercing into every one of them, as they looked back at him like they did nothing wrong.
"Come on, Superman, you know it was better he stayed behind," Wonder Woman said, making Clark shake his head.
"You've got to be kidding me." Clark snapped again, "I'm done, done with you guys done with this team. Don't call me., He said, before speeding out of the room.
The next task of business was to find Bruce and apologize. And that would be difficult. Sure, they knew each other's names, but only first names and that's it, and there had to be at least a hundred in Gotham.
