The wicked witch is dead

The sound of the shotgun blast and the window shattering filled the upside down.

"There. That's the moment that created a new universe."

Nancy, Steve, and Robin hurriedly ran downstairs and out of the Creel house, and now with a slower, more hesitant step, they approached the vaguely humanoid mass of flesh.

Suddenly, Steve staggered and touched his forehead, then he said -I have to go- Robin asked -What?- He hurriedly said -I have to go, Dustin and Eddie...- and ran off.

Robin asks -But how did...?- She didn't finish her question, as he took the bike and left.

They look at each other doubtfully and walk toward the amorphous being, Robin asks -Is it over?... Is it gone? Because I don't want to be pessimistic, but I've seen a LOT of horror movies, and this is the part where...-

Nancy approaches, aims, and fires the rifle, bursting the monster's heart.

Robin looks at her doubtfully but says -Yes... that'll do- Nancy, still looking at the being, says, -Get some firewood...- The other asks doubtfully -From where?-

Nancy replies -Bring the chairs from the house- She does so, and slowly, between the two of them, they surround the body with all the wood they had on hand.

The doors and drawers of bureaus and cupboards, ladles, and the damn giant clock, which they moved out of pure hatred, shattering it when they threw it into the front yard.

Then the young journalist takes out the last Molotov cocktail, removes the cloth, and throws it into the sink. Then she takes a swig from the bottle and passes it to Robin.

The video store employee thinks for a moment, but takes the bottle and takes a swig, then makes a face of disgust and returns it to the other girl.

Nancy pours the drink all over the wood and throws the bottle in there too, Robin then takes out the lighter and passes it to her.

In a flash, the pyre is ablaze, the girls turn to look at each other, and Robin steps forward, joining her mouth with Nancy's.

Then she steps away, and upon seeing the look of utter shock on Nancy's face, she clarifies, -It was... it was... a show of joy and utmost respect for the achievement that... that we achieved... sorry- visibly embarrassed.

Nancy comments -Now I feel horrible...- Robin exclaims -I ALREADY ASK FORGIVENESS- with faint tears welling up in her eyes.

Wheeler says -No, not "that"... it's just that since I always saw you glued to Steve, I assumed...- To which Robin, suddenly annoyed, clarifies -Well, you see, no... I already told you-

The other girl answers -Yes, yes... now I'm starting to understand more-

A voice comes from his radio, Lucas saying -Hello, HELLO... over- reluctantly saying the last part, although screams and moans of pain could be heard in the background.

Nancy takes the radio and asks -Yes, we're here, what's going on? Over-

Lucas starts to answer, but Max, very upset, yells -WELL, THEY BROKE BOTH OF MY ARMS, BOTH OF MY FUCKING LEGS, AND I ALMOST GOT BLIND, FUCK... THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS-

The boy stoically adds -Erica already went to get help, we're heading to the hospital... and Jason is tied up inside the house-

Nancy replies -We're on our way there... something tells me they're not the only ones who'll be using an ambulance...- but she doesn't finish her sentence.

A loud scream sounded from the sink, which began to shake.

They both screamed, and Nancy quickly began to reload the shotgun, when she saw the black particles emerging from the pile, she quickly shouted -COVER YOUR MOUTH... QUICKLY-

As they did, they saw the particles fly into the sky and disappear into the red lightning of the eternal storm.

Nancy saw the bonfire, which had calmed down once more and was now beginning to burn brighter.

Robin comments -We should go back and...- but they hear a noise approaching from the forest, they both turn to look and see a demodog slowly approaching them.

Wheeler girl prepares the shotgun when suddenly a demobat arrives and tries to snatch it up in its tentacles, only to receive severe scratches and bites from its prey.

They growl at each other until they finally flee, leaving both girls quite surprised.

Nancy asks -I've never seen them act like that before, they look like... animals- Robin shrugs and clarifies -Ding Dong, the wicked witch is dead-

Okay, I know it's not what I promised, but "The Final Season" is already knocking.

It was orgyent to separate this universe from canon.

Clarifications: the nexus event that branched this timeline into madness, was very Marvel-esque, even for me; Nancy aimed for the head.

And no, Vecna didn't die from that; his brain was already regenerating. What killed him was the burning of his body, because then the Mindflayer no longer considered him a habitable host and instinctively abandoned him, that's when he truly died.

So Max wasn't sacrificed, but she was badly injured, and therefore the portal didn't open.

And please don't tell me anything about the trailer or the episodes when you see them, because I've decided to live my life spoiler-free. I KNOW, I KNOW IT'S CRAZY and that I probably won't make it, but I have to at least try.

While I'll be taking inspiration from the next season, this is separate and this will continue because of/in spite of it... now sleep tight.
