Leeches

Gordie was sitting on a log in the woods, writing in his notebook, when he heard a noise and looked up. He was a little startled when he saw it, but realizing it wouldn't hurt him, he smiled, and the non-deer quietly left.

"The freight train woke the other boys, and I was about to tell them about the strange creature... but I didn't. That was the only thing I kept to myself. I never spoke or wrote about it again, until now"

Well, now it's a secret between you, me, and Henry.

Gordie looked up in alarm and looked around, but seeing no one nearby, he decided to join his friends in breaking camp after the meager two hours of sleep they'd gotten, and that only after dawn.

As they walked along the tracks, after Vern complained about not having breakfast.

"With our stomachs rumbling we pressed on toward the Royal River. The reality of Ray Brower was growing and kept us moving despite the heat. For me, the idea of seeing that kid's dead body was starting to become an obsession"

Hugh, how gruesome.

Gordie stopped and, looking very scared, asked -Did you hear that?-

Teddy asked -What are you talking about?- to which the young writer replied -I heard a voice say "how gruesome" and I think before...-

Vern clarified -I didn't hear anything- Chris checked the surroundings and suggested -Could it be that weirdo Hank, doing something stupid again?-

Teddy replied -I can't imagine him camping alone in the woods or walking that far-

Gordie added –it didn't sound like him...it was an adult's voice–

The others shrugged, and Teddy commented mockingly, -Gruesome? Oh, how sophisticated. We're being haunted by the ghost of an English gentleman, with a bowler hat and monocle- and laughed as he mimed tipping his hat.

Gordie pushed him and kept walking; the others just followed.

Then they reached a high point from where they could see the River Royal in the distance, and they decided to cross through the undergrowth, despite Vern's complaints.

Yeah, leaving the rails to go through a terrifying forest in the middle of nowhere... Nothing Can Possibli Go Wrong

Gordie stops for a moment, but frowns and continues walking.

"Billy and Charley had managed to keep their enormous secret for about thirty-six hours, a personal record for both of them. By noon Ace and Eyeball had told their secret to everybody in the gang. I guess for those guys, protecting their mother's good name wasn't a top priority"

But how the hell do you know that?... You're just speculating.

Gordie, walking through the mud, clenched his fists and changed his posture and gait. Chris noticed and asked -Is something wrong?- But Gordie reluctantly replied –Nothing- and continued on.

Then, trusting the word of a broken branch, they decided to cross the water... and ended up sinking in a swamp.

Hahaha, how stupid.

While the others played in the mud, Gordie walked away, head down, toward the other bank.

After his friends decided to tackle him, they realized the stream was full of leeches. The four boys quickly got out of the water and started tearing off their clothes and the creatures from their skin.

Finally, they were down to their underwear, and everything seemed to have calmed down, when suddenly Gordie desperately called out to Chris for help and then reached inside his underwear, to the dismay and disgust of his friends.

He grabbed the blood-sucking creature directly from his scrotum, right between the hairless shaft and the undescended testicle, and painfully pulled it off. It fell to the ground, and he stared again at his stained privates, which were now also staining his underwear.

Then he looked at his hand covered in that beautiful crimson red and fainted.

While he was in the oneiric realm,

He glimpsed something strange, as if looking through a fogged spyglass. He saw what appeared to be a man sitting on a bed with something in his hands.

He said -Wow, that must bring back memories, right, Will?- Receiving no response, he asked -Anything to add?-

Then he said again to the air -Damn, I hope that heart-to-heart talk didn't cure me... that would be a very boring life-

And he held the thing close to his face again, then everything went dark. That could have been the end... but he heard more voices, or rather, distant, broken murmurs.

-Do you think that was the end?... No more multiple personalities?-

-Why are you asking me? I'm seeing the same thing as you-

-Was it really necessary for us to see his...?-

-Can he hear it?-

-It seems so, but apparently he can't hear himself-

-Do you think it has to do with what you said... that the past changes?-

-Is there an echo here...?-

-Don't make things up... it's coming from the screen... it's our voices-

-That's fucking scary-

-DON'T BE AN IDIOT WITH YOUR...-

-Watch out for paradoxes, stupid-

Gordie opened his eyes and saw Chris and the other boys in front of him, asking him worriedly if he was alright.

Then Chris suggested going back, which sparked a fight among them.

Finally, Gordie, furious, said, - Stop it... STOP IT... ¡¡STOP IT!!- He stood up and declared angrily -...I'm not going back home- He grabbed his things and walked into the woods, followed by the other boys.

"At the time I didn't know why I needed to see that body so badly. Even if noone had followed me, I would have gone on alone, anything to avoid having to get home and make a decision"

Wow, how dramatic...but although I'm starting to see how you've attracted the attention of...

At that moment, Gordie stopped and yelled furiously -SHUT UP, YOU DAMN WEIRD!-

His friends just gave him strange looks and followed him, explaining that he had just gone through something very traumatic.

Okay, this was supposed to go much further, but somehow, half the draft ended up being only four pages, so I'll stop here.

As you may already know, "Squirrel_Tail22" is back of live, which makes everyone happy. I just hope my ideas were helpful and that I can show all the nuances before moving on to the next film. I hope so.
