"We grew up together"
Dustin takes the tape and puts it back in its case, saying -Well... shall we watch another one?- The look everyone gave him made his opinion clear, so he puts it back in the box.
Max looks at Joyce and asks, raising an eyebrow -Really?- Joyce, surprised, tries to explain, -He was handsome...-
Mike adds -Not really... what did he think he was doing with that jacket, John Lennon?- Lucas asks -Didn't you say you met him at university?-
She just shrugs and replies -I never went to one, besides, Susanna said so... and she's a little... borderline- tracing spirals on the back of her neck with her finger.
Jonathan quickly interrupts -Please, let's not discuss, AGAIN, my mom's teenage romantic escapades- He sounded annoyed and hurt, so everyone decided to just grab their things, throw away the trash, and start to leave.
Dustin, at the box of movies, says -I think next week we should... WHAT THE HELL?-
The others, hearing him, come closer, and Lucas asks -What's up, Dustin?- Dustin retorts, -Who the hell did this?- opening one of the boxes, which was empty and contained a white piece of paper with red letters that said "CANCELLED".
This surprised everyone, who gathered around the box. Dustin added -And it's not the only one...- He began checking the boxes and listed them -"Mama" "Beetlejuice" "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" "Journey to the Center of the Earth" "Evil Dead Rise"-
Immediately, Robin, Joyce, Hopper, Jonathan, and Eddie exclaimed in relief.
Nancy said seriously -Listen, this is important. We could get in trouble." But Jonathan replied -I don't think so...-
Everyone turned to look at him, and, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck, he explained -When this started, I took my film and... hid it-
Joyce confronts Jonathan, to which he replies -I was embarrassed, okay?-
Robin asks -So what happened?- Jonathan explains -All the doors and windows closed, and they wouldn't let me out until I put it back in the box... Is that door open?-
Max opens it and replies –Yes- which shocks everyone a bit.
Finally, Eddie responds -So this is an "order from above"... it seems we've bored "the higher-ups"-
Nancy asks, confused -Is that good or bad?- The metal musician can only shrug.
Steve comments -Whatever... we'd better go- Everyone continued packing their things. Before Mike could cross the threshold, Eleven takes his arm and asks -Mike... can we talk?-
-.-.-
They both head out of the house, alone together in a very awkward atmosphere. They look into each other's eyes, and Mike finally asks -Is something wrong?-
She, visibly nervous, swallows hard and finally says -I want... I want to apologize-
Mike stared at her, uncomprehending, until she sighed and continued -No... it wasn't Jonathan who told everyone that you... it was me- gathering her courage for the last part.
He looked at her, but not really saw her, completely lost in her words, his face alternating between a deathly pallor and barely contained red rage.
She proceeded to explain -I got home and heard crying... I went to see what was happening and it was Will and Jonathan talking. He was telling her what he heard you say... I didn't know what to do. I told Max, and she, furious, told Lucas and...-
There, Mike interrupted her and asked -Did you think... did you really think I had...?- She replied -I was angry... we had just broken up. It was easy to just blame you for everything, and that's it. I'm sorry... of course, for knowing you were leaving me for another boy-
