While Ramin and I waited for his cue to go on stage for Anastasia, I pressed a supportive kiss on his cheek and said, "You're going to be amazing, as always."
He glanced down at me and smiled.
"Thank you. It's nice to have a little motivation along the way."
"It's not like you need it," I scoffed. "I've never seen a bad performance from you once."
"You never know," Ramin shrugged. "I might be singing a hard note at one point, and then I'll end up croaking like Carlotta on stage. That would be humiliating."
"That's never going to happen," I reassured him. "You're too perfect to make a mistake, especially when it comes to your singing."
"Well, I appreciate your support anyway," he said. "You're like my cheerleader."
I held my head up high and pretended to be snotty.
"It's true. I'm the best."
Ramin chuckled and kissed the top of my head.
