Abigail knocked on Kian's office door and asked, "Are you in here, Mr. Madani?"

There was a pause, and then, a faint reply emitted from the room: "Yes."

She furrowed her brows and gently opened the door, peeking her head in by a few inches.

Glancing to the left, she spotted Kian leaning against the wall, his eyes shut tight as if he was in pain.

"Oh my God," Abigail muttered while closing the door behind her. "Kian, what happened?"

When he didn't reply or move, she stepped in front of him and placed her hands on his broad shoulders.

"Kian, talk to me," she pleaded softly. "Open your eyes."

He shook his head the slightest bit.

"Please. Tell me what's wrong."

After a moment, Kian gazed down at Abigail, his brown eyes filled with unshed tears.

Her mouth dropped open at his dreadful expression, and she moved her hands to his handsome face.

"Would you rather not talk about it?" she pressed ever so slightly.

He gave the smallest nod, then pulled her into a hug.

"Stay," Kian muttered into her hair. "Don't leave me."

Abigail squeezed him tighter and said, "I wasn't planning on it, my love."
