I knocked on Ramin's dressing room door and asked, "Are you busy in there?"

"Nope," he replied. "Come on in, my Angel."

I smiled and turned the doorknob, peeking my head in when there was enough space.

"You're looking quite handsome, Mr. Vaganov," I said in a flirtatious tone. "I don't think Anya will be able to resist you this time."

Ramin shrugged and replied with a smirk, "Maybe, but if it doesn't work out, I know the one person who will always keep coming back to me."

I shyly bit my lip and moved my eyes to my feet.

"But what if someone else takes an interest in you?" I asked under my breath. "What will happen then?"

Before I knew it, he reached me in two strides, and he placed a single finger underneath my chin, lifting my head up the slightest bit.

His brown eyes were firm as he said, "No one could ever take me from you, Ave. That's a promise."

I breathed in a sigh of relief and apologized for my words.

"I shouldn't have said that."

"Don't be," Ramin reassured, kissing my forehead to prove it. "I understand why you might be afraid of losing me, but I can assure you that I'm not going anywhere. You have my word."

I relaxed and laid my head on his chest, holding him close to me as if he would disappear at any moment, like a Phantom.
