CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE.
KODAIKANAL.

After enjoying themselves in the tea farm, they decided to head towards the infamous Guna cave which was really exciting for Dariyah. She was really intrigued by the cave and its history.

They walked out of the parking lot and they stopped at the tea stall just outside the forest that was headed off to the cave for something hot in this cold.

"Anna, 6 teas and 2 coffees, please." Sneha ordered to the old man who was the owner. He nodded his head with a smile and did as asked.

The boys were impressed by the taste of Indian tea and ordered another cup as well. Charles was happy when Dariyah offered him some of the filter coffee she was having and was impressed with that as well.

They ate some snacks and then decided to head towards the forest. They walked a while until they reached a place which was really secured with grills and a lot of security guarding the grill covered place.

"What's in there?" Max asked, when all of them stopped to look at the highly secured place.

"Oh! I'll tell!" Dariyah jumped up in excitement which caused almost all of them to be startled in fright. "That's the Guna Cave! But originally it was called The Devil's Kitchen. It was named that when we were still under the British Rule." Dariyah gave a sarcastic smile to Lando- who just raised his hands in surrender.

"I'm part Belgium as well." Lando pouted, Rishi comforted him while holding back her own smile.

"Anyways... it was called The Devil's Kitchen because it is one of the most mysterious and dangerous places in the world you'd ever want to be. In that cave there are a lot of hidden pits which is estimated to be almost as deep to the crust of the earth.

But then in 1991, a movie came out which starred one of the best actors and is also a legend in Indian cinema, Kamal Hassan. The movie was based on the cave.

He is a mentally stable man who believed that he was going to marry an angel when he gets out of the asylum. And when he finally leaves some goons abduct him and asks him to rob a Hindu temple. There, he finds a girl and thought of her as the angel he had been dreaming for so long and then kidnaps her and brings her to this cave.

I don't know much about the movie but this is the plot. The movie became a hit because of which the cave's name was changed into Guna cave after the movie name, Guna.

But since then, a lot of his fans jumped over the grill and went into the cave. Back then they didn't have much security around here. You see that?" Dariyah pointed at the slope attached to the grill.

"The people used to climb over that slope and then jump on to the other side. A lot of people have said to be painted their group names onto the pillars in there. Until now 16 people are said to have fallen into the pits of Guna caves and are yet to be found. Those people are presumed to be dead. Almost everyone who has become the prey of the Guna cave was announced dead after falling in."

"Why didn't the police or the government help?" Carlos asked, becoming really invested into the history of the Guna cave.

"They did. But no one was willing to go into the pit because they were scared of losing their lives. But that was until the incident of 2006."
