CHAPTER NINE.
CHENNAI."What's wrong?" Dariyah asked after she had managed to make Lavina's somewhat lively.
Charles shook out of his thoughts before shaking his head, "Nothing. I was just looking at the pictures on the wall."
Dariyah looked behind him to see which picture he was looking at. She chuckled as she remembered that day, "That's when Lavina turned 18. She demanded a grand birthday party but we were all broke. So, Sneha and I stole the balloons from another girl's 18 birthday party we went before hers." Dariyah laughed, feeling nostalgic of the memory.
"Rishi baked the cake. And we just went to a park. The wall that's behind us, that's a restroom." Charles laughed at the story. "Hey. No laughing." Charles raised his hands in surrender but still had a smile since Dariyah had one too.
"It was a really fun day." Dariyah grew quiet as the memory of what happened next came to her. "All right, do you need anything?"
"Not really. Did you want anything?" Charles asked Dariyah.
"No, I'm all good too."
The two turned towards the door as they heard laughing and footsteps outside the house. "Looks like the clowns are here." Dariyah commented, earning a chuckle from Charles.
"Welcome to the house of traumas everyone!" Lavina exclaimed flapping her arms. Everyone laughed at the sentence.
Lavina didn't really had a great childhood either. Her elder brother had died when she was just 7 and her mother didn't really treat her well ever since then.
"That's really funny." Dariyah sarcastically stated.
"Anyways! Since you guys are all ready. It's time for us girls to get ready as well. So, while we women get ready, you boys could watch a movie or something." Lavina walked towards her TV and turned it on, she threw the remote to Max who caught it with a great reflex.
"We'll see you guys in 2 hours." Rishi winked at them. As the 3 girls walked into Lavina's room.
"So, what outfit you got for me? And I'd like to remind you I want it to be—" Dariyah was interrupted by a bored Lavina and Rishi. "Modest and Elegant. We know."
Dariyah rolled her eyes at her friends.
After a hour and a half, the girls stepped out of the room. The boys were watching reruns of the previous cricket matches with interest. They turned their heads after hearing the door lock.
Lavina came in first wearing a wine red backless jumpsuit which had a deep V neck line, then came Rishi with a red crop top and a red skirt which was till her knee with a small slit on the sides. Then finally Dariyah came out wearing a cream satin dress with loose sleeves which was flowing a little below her knees, she had light make up done with her hair curled a little on the ends.
To be more comfortable, she had worn skin colour stockings which was almost unnoticeable. Charles stood up as soon as she came in sight. "Hi." Charles breathed out, feeling like it was a dream.
"Hi?" Dariyah stated more as a question. "You seriously have to do something about closing that mouth, mate." Max whispered to him when he noticed the attention was no longer on Charles as Lando clicked pictures of them with his camera.
