CHAPTER FIFTY ONE.
CHENNAI."Thank you so much for this, son." Alisha smiled at Charles, who was lost in his thoughts looking at the girl sleeping on her mother's lap after a long day. It was the first time he has seen her look so peaceful while sleeping. Every time he has seen her sleep there has always been a little tension evident in her face, as if there was something haunting her when she was sleep but this was the first time where there was only relief written all over her sleeping face, she looked even more beautiful than she already was in his eyes.
His eyes teared up a bit thinking of everything she had gone through all her life. He looked up at his future mother-in-law and smiled at her softly. "I didn't even do anything."
"You did more than we could ask for." Alisha placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it softly. She smiled before slowly moving her daughter onto her future son-in-law's lap. "I believe this is going to be your job from now." Alisha winked teasingly before getting up from the couch.
Charles smiled lovingly down at the woman on his lap, he traced her face without touching her face, not wanting to wake the sleeping beauty up. He raised his gaze from the love of this life when Alisha walked up towards them again. She placed a tiny scrap book in front of him on the table. Charles' eyes grew with confusion.
Alisha gave a soft smile after seeing the confusion on his face. "This was the scrap book Dariyah made when she was 7. It was when I took her to a wedding for the first time. She was really amazed by the idea of a wedding that she wanted to plan her future wedding well in advance. It has the planning laid out from the start to the end." Alisha smiled sadly before continuing the story.
"But she threw it away or at least she thought she did when she saw me getting beaten up by her biological father for the first time because of the man I'm finally divorced to right now. She believed that every wedding would result in the wives getting beaten up. She was scared of getting married and especially falling in love then she decided to give that guy from her school a chance to prove her wrong but he did the opposite." Alisha rolled her eyes and sighed in anger.
"The one time she wished someone to prove her wrong and unfortunately it didn't go that way. It took her a long time to get over the hurt. I'm glad that she finally found the love she deserves and i'm glad it's you." Alisha gave him a soft smile before walking away again.
Charles stared at the book for a few seconds before smiling widely. He kissed Dariyah's forehead before laying her down on the couch. He kissed her forehead again before walking out the house to make a call with the scrap book in his hand. He smiled happily when the person he called picked up the phone.
"Hello. I'd like to make a reservation."

Dariyah woke up and stretched herself, she groaned in relief. Damn, can't remember the last time I had a sleep so good. She looked around and realised she was asleep on the couch. Her eyes closed in content when she smelt something delicious from the kitchen.
She walked towards the kitchen and started laughing at the sight of Charles cooking in her mother's old strawberry patterned apron with a chef cap on his head that only god knows where he got that from. His face was covered with a bit flour and the kitchen was... a bit messy? (no, it wasn't a bit messy.)
"I didn't know you were a chef Mr. Leclerc." Dariyah stated once her laughter slowed down.
"Yeah. Well i got a fiancé to impress, so." Charles shrugged his shoulders smugly, not noticing the discomfort the statement brought to Dariyah.
