CHAPTER THIRTY ONE.
ABU DHABI.

And just like Dariyah expected, Charles won the Miami GP yet when he stepped out of the car he was anything but happy. He held the usual fake smile he had on his face since the start of the season.

Even on the podium he was not as enthusiastic as he should have been. People were calling him ungrateful and rude for reacting this way for his win.

It broke Dariyah's heart to know it was all because of her. But she also knew it was only going to last a few more days and then he'll forget her like Pravin said. I was never the one anyone remembers anyway.

It had been a few days since the race. Dariyah was resting on her apartment as it was her off day. She made herself some pasta and turned on her favourite Bollywood movie, Jab We Met. It was the best romcom movie for a romcom lover.

Dariyah has watched it for almost 5000 times. If you ever ask her to say her favourite romcom movie, Jab We Met would be her answer, 10 Things I Hate About You would be a close second.

Her phone rang midway in the movie. She glanced at the caller name to be Sneha. Usually the two girls would meet up with each other during the weekends since they lived closer than the rest of the girls. But Sneha called up to cancel saying she had some work and wanted to make up to her daughter for the missed time.

She picked up her call, "Hey! What's up?"

"Are you at home?" Sneha asked from the other side, he fingers waiting to be used for typing.

"Yeah, why?" Dariyah's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion.

"Nothing! You're welcome!" And then she hung up. Dariyah was confused at her best friends behaviour but her attention was brought towards her doorbell ringing.

She glanced at her phone for the last time before walking towards her door. She didn't know who it'd be since she wasn't expecting any one. Must be Layla for a gossip sesh.

"Hi, Lay!—" Dariyah stopped mid-sentence when she opened the door to be met with the eyes that's been haunting her mind for so long.
"Charles?"

"Dariyah." Charles breathed out, and wrapped his arms around her without wasting time. Dariyah couldn't help but hug him back, tears almost falling out of her eyes. She felt like she could finally breathe. She placed a hand on his head, playing with his hair and the other on his shoulders. Her head on his shoulder as he cradled her.

Dariyah's mind went blank under his embrace but then Pravin's words brought her back to reality. She immediately pushed Charles away. Charles heart breaking at her action towards him. "Riya-"

"What're you doing here? How'd you get my address?" Dariyah kept her eyes anywhere but on him.

"Are you really going to be questioning me without even letting me in your house?" Charles asked, his eyes soft but filled with hurt as he watched her not wanting to even look at him.

Dariyah thought of his words for a few seconds before sighing, "Come in."

Charles smile widely at her, walking in her house after she moved away from the door.
