CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT.
MONACO.

After their little dance time at Fort Antoine, Charles showed Dariyah around his city. Both of them had two cones of ice cream on their hands, with their free hands intertwined as they strolled along, fortunately the area seemed to be clear of people. There weren't much people except for the oldies who they just smiled at politely.

"So, let me get this straight." Charles started, taking a lick of his choco chip ice cream. "You survived a whole day just by eating ice cream? I mean, how does it even work? Don't you get brain freeze?" Charles chuckled, knowing the love his love had for ice cream.

"It wasn't really my idea but I had no money, and I was gifted a huge bucket of my favourite butterscotch ice cream. So, I just finished it in a day. It worked like a charm and I completed a thesis worth of 1 week time in 1 day. I was proud of myself." Dariyah shrugged her shoulders in pride, licking her butterscotch ice cream. The sweetness tingling her insides in a cold yet warm way.

"Who's the intelligent person to have gift you a huge bucket of ice cream?" Charles lifted up his brow.

"It's this guy—"

"Woah-woah. A guy? A guy gifted you a huge bucket of ice cream?" Charles halted in his steps, turning to look at his love. The bright greens in his eyes seemed to have darkened.

"Yeah. That's what I said, right? But you don't have to worry, he's gay." Dariyah couldn't control her laugh after seeing his jealous face. "Were you jealous, Mister Charles?"

"Ofcourse I was. Why wouldn't I be? You're beautiful and astonishingly smart. Who wouldn't be jealous when they have you as their girlfriend, Brownies?" Charles stated the obvious, not a look of lying was seen in his face and tone which took Dariyah by surprise. She never thought that she could find a guy admitting his jealousy would be this hot but also cute.

But before Dariyah could reply, chorus of people screaming Charles' name was heard from the distance. Charles and Dariyah shared a panic look as they ran away from the rushing crowd.

They shared a laugh as they continued running away from the fans. Dariyah stumbled across a rock, which resulted in ripping of her scandals. "Oh my god, I can't ru—" Dariyah didn't get to finish her sentence because she felt arms wrapping around her thighs as she felt herself being carried. "Charles!"

"What? I'm carrying my love who's bare-feet, I'm getting my cardio and running away from people who doesn't understand the meaning of privacy. It's a win-win situation." Charles smirked as he continued running, Dariyah's weight having no effect on his speed. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard him call her love.

Dariyah just shook her head in disbelief and pinched his cheeks in adoration. "You're the best."

"I know. But I don't mind hearing it from you everyday." Charles let out a breathy chuckle. He then soon found a small alleyway and ran towards it.

He let her down and made her stand on his feet, he motioned her to stay silent. They heard the people still screaming his name, the couple looked at each other with smiles and their ice creams melting on their hands.

After a few seconds the crowd walked away in disappointment as they missed the chance of meeting their favourite racer.

"Do you think we can leave now?" Dariyah asked looking over his shoulder to find the area clear.
