CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT.
CHENNAI.The gang was finally back to Chennai after a roller coaster of a trip. The gang definitely noticed the change of dynamic between Charles and Dariyah as there was a lot of touchiness and clear flirting between the two more than usual.
It was now a week after coming back from their trip meaning the boys would be leaving soon. The girls were feeling sad that they'd be by themselves after the boys' departure. The girls didn't imagine the boys would have become so much close to them since they never let a guy ever get into their and now they were 4 of them.
Despite admitting that Charles and Dariyah had feelings for each other, they never really talked about what were they and where they would be going with this and it was something that was irking Dariyah real bad but she couldn't bring herself to talk to him about it, too scared that she'll ruin whatever it is that's going on with them. Communication wasn't one of her strongest suits which is ironic for a lawyer but it is what it is.
"So, You and Charles huh?" Dariyah was pulled out of her thoughts by Lavina's voice. All of the girls were staying over at Dariyah's house since there's no one there at the moment and wanted to be closer to each other since they don't know when they'll be all together in one place after this.
"Yeah. I don't know." Dariyah focussed back on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. that was playing on her TV, munching on some popcorn. They were currently watching the episode Ross was to be getting married with Emily.
"What do you mean "you don't know"?" Rishi turned to her, confused.
"I mean, we kissed a few times—"
"YOU GUYS KISSED?!" Dariyah was startled by their sudden loud voice, all the popcorn falling on her because of her being startled.
Charles was in the same position as Dariyah while the guys sat around him wanting to know the details.
"Yeah, we kissed. Big deal. Now, that's not the real problem. I want to ask her out, properly. But I feel like i'd scare her off or that she'll reject me. I don't want to be ruining anything, I finally got her after waiting for 13 years." Charles rubbed his hands over his face but froze when he realised he messed up.
"13 years? 13 YEARS?!" Charles was sure that the whole Chennai had heard Lando.
"What do you mean by 13 years, mate?" Carlos asked, softly being the only mature one giving a side eye to Lando.
"Yeah, I met her back on 2008 when I went to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for Jules. Sure, that time I didn't have any feelings for her but I did consider her as a friend but after that day she just vanished. One moment she was with me and Papa and then when we turned our attention back to her, she was gone." Charles sighed, remembering that memory very clearly.
"Brown eyes! Look there, there's Jules! He's my Godfather!" An 11 year old Charles pointed towards the big screen that was showing Jules getting the trophy for winning P1.
"What's a Godfather?" 8 year old Dariyah looked up at Charles.
"Godfather is someone who is your second Father figure. He'll be looking out for you if something were to happen to your real parents." Hervè explained instead of Charles.
Dariyah remembered the terrible fightings between her mom and dad, her mother almost dying by the hands of her father. At one point she thought they'd have killed each other, leaving her and her sister orphaned.
